Guitar is simply a hobby for him. One that he is particularly good at. This doesn't mean he wants to be forced to play all the time or that he wants people to come up to him and suck his dick because he can play well.

That may be true, but despite the blatant differences amongst the different levels of fame, the concept is that he desired some sort of fame, whether it be a huge multi-million dollar contract with tons of people chanting his name in a new-age guitar band, or a bunch of stay-at-home internet junkies that enjoy surfing youtube and google video for random video clips of that sort. You gotta remember, the internet has revolutionized and spread through millions and millions of people around the world, which is nearly the same amount of listeners and/or fans that would have idolized him being in a band anyway, if not more. The only difference would be that his decision to join and become a star in a band would be a money-making process, while his own personal enjoyment of recording himself fulfilling his skillful hobby of guitar playing for the internet to experience with him is something he wanted to do, which indeed involves fame to a certain extent, just a different step on the ladder.

If he didn't want to do it, he didn't want to do it. Like somebody else said, hobbies aren't meant to be done forever.

If it were me, I would turn down. I'm very shy and I'm also scared it'll go to my head.

I would just sit home and play, record myself and put out an album whenever I felt like it. No schedules no lame **** producers just independent albums.

There are just some things where a favorite hobby may not cross to as a career. Seriously, though you are getting paid for something you love to do, the pressure, attention, and most of all, criticism, would be so overwhelming.

What this kid did may not be reasonable to alot of people, but what he did is what's right for him. Sometimes, money and attention is not what makes you happy. It's almost as if you take the fun out of the hobby being that it is officially a serious matter.

Totally. Life is about opportunities and which ones to take, but you don't have to take every single one that comes at your face. Life ain't no video game. You only get one chance.
