Button mashing, skill or no skill? - Page 3

There aren't any songs that have to be mashed. Some songs are just too fast for most people to read.

I can read some stuff fine on SM but my hands are unable to keep up. Btw even the hardest sims on FFR are actually considered easy on SM but r1 is limited because of jack syndrom/fps/no speed mods so reading comes into play more than actual physical ability of being fast enough. Take for example, I can FC lawn wake without a sweat on SM and do horribly on ffr lawn wake. FC FOTBB without a problem on sm and look like a noob on ffr(same exact steps btw).

Hm....i guess it kinda depends doesn't it? Maybe if it were accurate i'd be somewhat ok, but if you're just hitting some random buttons, then no.

Mashing is definitely skill. In SM, it's mostly just mashing as fast as you can, on songs like Blur Speedy Mix, to try to pass, but in FFR, it's more like mashing as evenly spaced out as you can usually, and as slow as you can get away with without breaking your combo, too. Not everyone can pass Blur Speedy Mix, and not everyone can FC Silence by mashing, so therefore, mashing must be a skill.

If i cant play a song without mashing, i dont bother with it. Thus the rank 150+ on EHHS (My worst song)

sometimes...you just gotta button mash.
if you actually TRY & READ & DO each step [while smashing]..that takes skill
but if your just completly banging up ur keyboard...dont think so.

on any song u dont have to button mash if you do "have to button mash" then the song is to hard for you and dont do that song... try to get better at other songs first before you try that song again

Then how else do people do Guru only songs? So many keys at once so your hand(s) need to move really fast and you have to respond quickly.
