That song can pass for a level 7, even almost a 6, probably the easiest level 8 i've seen, im sure TheThong would easily be able to AAA it as well.
I tried playing Ochisukeruwakenaiwayo and resulted with a score with over 30 goods, and also did horrible on the previous D2 song, so no.

People with 7s AAAd were placed in D2 so regardless if you think the file is a 7 or not you still have an AAA that's out of D1's league. But it seems that no one cares about the little guy.

I really just brought you up to prove a point moreso than anything. I had looked at your recent scores on 8s from the tournament and I know they aren't great. It's just the point that you have scores that crush D1 and no one cares but when it comes to another player having scores that they achieved recently better than people in their division it's a problem.

If you're trying to make a point that SM is the only game where there aren't divisions, try ITG, or IIDX, or DDR, or PIU, or Pop'n, or any other Bemani game for that manner. I guarantee you'll never find a tournament with more than three divisions, let alone two.

But people with a 7 AAAd were put into D2 at the start of this and certainly if they were able to SDG 8s.

What I really want to know is what the division placement guidelines were for each division.

lololololol let's just run a massive levelrank query to see if any D5 players have five or more scores that are better than any one player that was placed in D6. If yes, bump them.

I bet if we did that, at least ten of you would get bumped.

I thought about that for a second, if it happens, I'm sure 5-10 people will be bumped per division, just saying.

there's an arcade here in vegas that hosts bemani tournaments with multiple divisions (ie ddr has light-standard and standard-heavy)

but I was mostly making a joke

So then I guess everyone will be in agreement with me that xMUSICxMASTERx should be moved up as well seeing as she recently AAAd an 8 which is way higher than the people in D1 can do.


@ Justin you weren't one of our borderline players.

MusicMaster plays on thirdstyle.. idk how she managed to get indo D1.. Should definately be D2

The way I see it, if someone is getting scores that are far distanced (high or low) from the rest of the players in their division they should get bumped, so I agree with Clipso's bump and I agree with xMUSICxMASTERx's bump. If I were to get a score like 31-0-0-13 on Almost There *cough* I would get bumped :P

I was definitely borderline D5/D6 when the tourney started, based on my levelranks (at the time), the placement was fine.
I took a long break from FFR/SM when FFR went down, and only returned about a month before the tourney started. I found out about the standalones and just went on my merry way, AAAing all the difficulty 1-9 songs, and most of the 10s. I didn't really get around to the FMO/FGO songs until the tourney started. I had no idea I was capable of the kind of scores I've been getting. I guess the standalone made a huge difference for me.
I wasn't sandbagging at all, sorry if anyone thought I was.

Good luck to everyone in D5, hopefully I can hold my own in D6 as well as you all think I can.
