it occasionally happens when someone is misplaced and its not noticed till after r1 but 90% of the time its just during round one. If you skillboosted you should be safe, as thats kind of what tournaments are all about. just look at me in OT12 i was placed in D4. i then skill boosted to D5 during round 1 (i may have actually hit D5 on the leaderboards before r1) and almost hit D6. as you can see by my 1st place d4 badge, i wasn't put into D5, though the option was there for me if i asked to be bumped up post round 1.
