I need some help designing creature species for a game design I'm working on, and I was interested in seeing what our local artists could come up with. Absolutely anyone can post their designs, you don't have to be artistically inclined or be one to consider yourself creative. I really don't care what kind of stuff I get, I just need inspiration and ideas! The incredibly practised artists can go ahead and blow my mind, if you are so inclined, but I'm not requesting anything that takes hours.
All prized are out of my unedited/legit credit account. Credit Prizes: 1k for acceptable entries 5k for exceptional entries 25k for mind blowing entries (you can opt out of prize) All entries will receive credit for their contribution if their ideas are used. ---- Accepted noname219 - Post - 4,000 credits awarded. ---- Criteria 1) Must NOT be humanoid! 2) Must NOT have wings! 3) Must NOT rely on the sun directly! (Don't read into this one too much, just no solar panels.) 4) The races will be in an environment where digging is impossible. 5) Environments are extreme. Severe heat, severe moisture, water, magma, complete darkness, utterly barren and dry, etc... Many areas are filled with thick fog which cannot be seen through (or breathed) conventionally, others are filled with water or magma. 6) Scanned &/or photographed work is acceptable, as well as digital work as well! Feel free to paint if you wish. :3 Be creative, think about what I've suggested and go absolutely wild! Please and thank you! If you have any questions, or bizarre ideas, please just post! If I take inspiration from your contribution, I will credit you! And if your creation gets me money at any point in the future, I will be sure to track you down and pay you in thanks! ^^ Additional Info - Abundance of H20 in vapour and liquid. - Oxygen density is normal. - Very little foliage, but loads of moss, lichen, and aquatic plant life. ---- If you can't think of anything, use the following guidelines. All creatures live in caves. 1) A creature which lives in high density fog. - Imagine that the creature lives in a landlocked cloud. (Extraordinarily saturated.) - Temperatures vary from warm to very intense heat, creature need protection from scalding water vapour. - Moisture is a problem, the creature must be able to deal with the ridiculous amount of liquid. - Does the creature breath? If yes, how does it deal with the water? If no, how does it sustain itself? - Organic structure cannot be composed of water vapour or fluid/jelly/frozen water, at all. Do not include it. (You get the point.) 2) A creature which lives around massive amounts of metals. - Temperatures are extremely high. Cannot survive in anything below a very high threshold of heat. - Air is saturated with toxins, ash, and residue from molten materials. - Creature can live in molten metal/rock/minerals. - Breathing is not necessary for this creature when it is submerged in magma. - Organic structure cannot be composed entirely of metals/rock. 3) A creature which lives in an incredibly cold environment. - Temperature is extremely low. Cannot survive in temperatures above freezing. - Creature can mould ice using untitled power. - Go wild with how it generates energy. (Pick anything you like. It's up to you. It needs something though, pick one or design your own. You do not have to pick a standard method.) - Organic structure cannot be composed entirely of ice. 4) Amphibious mid temperature creature. - Standard amphibious creature as you might see today. - Temperature range is standard. -20 to +50. (Celsius) Not an extremophile. - Not necessarily reptilian or mammalian, or anything that exists. Combine them, or invent something. - Must eat, breath, and see with eyes. - No limitations to it's organic structure, go wild. (Remember the temperature ranges.)
