Ah yes I should make an honorable mention here as well. While MrPopadopalis was not chosen as a main event person right now he will be making us some kick butt front page posts for songs of the week and events alike.

I will say Plop, that last FPP is really amusing. Especially with the Rarity one.

I hope you realize how ludicrously ironic this is... given that we're talking about Middie here.

put it this way. Right now who's currently stirring up debate?
can anyone say, "not middie" see how he does running behind the scenes stuff, then say how good/bad he is. stop saying things along the lines of "because this guy is an ass in real life means he can't manage things well". one and the other don't go together, especially since he's (said multiple times already) behind the scenes |

lets just all agree to disagree on the topic, and move on to watching the new events come in, shall we?

I'm going to make this my last post, and I promise that I will not post anymore.
This community is very small okay? As a matter of fact, it's so small that pretty much who is anybody knows everyone (or at least knows of them). If you want a successful tournament, why don't you give it the way the community wants it. Why not take open vote upon who we think could be the best candidate for the job? Why not get invoice from dedicated members in this community who actually care about this website? It's not fair at all and I hope you guys can open your eyes for a sec just to see where I'm coming from. We have people on this forum that have a good reputation and are known to work very well with people. I feel like this is all favoritism if you ask me, but that's just my own opinion on this case. (just this one). Edit: Anyway, gl with the events I will not be in once again. |

Middie isn't being talked about here. Middie's position in this situation is. Drama that is being stirred up because of this has nothing to do with Middie's argument, it's simply a crutch for people that disagree with him being someone to assist the event helpers to use in an argument. The point is entirely irrelevant. EDIT: as far as a successful tournament/what the community wants, the 6th official was considerably more successful than the 7th one -- all promised prizes were given out promptly, everything was done on time and there was considerably less complaining involved, yet that good tournament is being tied with this previously not-so-good one as the tournaments needing to be improved, when that simply isn't the case when there's good management. It was said by many that the last tournament was poorly run, and that there was considerably less hype for it. |

This isn't about favoritism, I've met Dossar in person and have no problems with him. The fact is he doesn't have the time needed to dedicate to this. Plus none the less you all are still missing the fact that middie is not actually running any events. The three chosen are the three chosen and would stay that way regardless. I also hope you can see where I'm about to come from, having people vote promotes favoritism because all it becomes then is a popularity contest and not about who is actually best for the job. PrawnSkunk and foxfire both had very detailed and well thought out applications with great ideas to contribute to the site. They also demonstrated a number of ways they could help. YOSHl's application wasn't quite as extensive but still provided some really good ideas and offered many things he could bring to the table for events. These were the people chosen to be the event helpers. Which is what I'm still trying to get across. Middie has a ton of experience with tournaments and is very good at organizing events. He was already on the placement team well before this application even was an idea. He wasn't chosen as an actual event helper because of his current reputation on the site. Other applicants either didn't put much thought into the applications or just didn't quite have as much experience or time to put into doing this. I'm not saying that they had nothing to offer, as I mentioned before I felt as though all who applied did have different skill sets that could be great, but I wanted to bring on the people that could do a lot of different things. Since the main focus seems to be Dossar, his application didn't bring up anything but tournaments. Which yes he has strengths in tournaments, but I need more than just that out of an event helper. He also reinforces that he doesn't really have the time to do this because of college. His time on the site is limited and may change based on things he has to do. When we work on things we do it live and together, so I have to have people that have at least a fair deal of free time to do so. Edit: Oh and as to not exclude popadop his application was great for someone to write front page posts which as you can see he has already started.

I think a lot of you are forgetting the fact that these people are event helpers and not event managers. Two entirely different things.
