With how many keys did you start off your VSRG (rhythm games) journey?

Me, I started off with 4 keys, currently going with 7 keys right now.

I started off on 4 keys, like 16/17 years ago and am still playing that. I also play a couple mobile rhythm games which, I guess can vary between 4 and 8 keys.

Technically 8? The first rhythm game I played and actually knew what was going on was Super Crazy Guitar Maniac Deluxe 2 which had arrow keys and 1234/asdf for hold keys. 5 (6 if you count the strumbar????) when I started playing Rock Band/Guitar Hero, then down to 4 when I found FFR.

I've always been a 4-key guy. Tried out higher numbers of keys, but any odd-numbered amount of keys gets me confused about which finger to hit the center lane with.

keys aint everything. my first rhythm game would've been guitar hero which is I guess 5 plus strum. many people would've also played many mobile rhythm games which have no "keys"

These days outside of 4k, because complexity clearly creates a better rhythm game i play a lot of chrono circle. which i guess would be 12 buttons, plus a spinning wheel, plus a touch screen.

Started 4 arrow keys -> 2 fingers, went up to 4 split keys -> 4 fingers. I play a couple of 8 button things like DJMax, but I'm more comfortable on 4 or 6.

Does guitar on Rocksmith count for 144? or..? I guess zero "keys", unless we count my pedal board for 3?

4key. The exception I make is when I play doubles on DDR (8 panel).

Maybe try 10 panel (Pump It Up double) someday.
