What I'm actually doing is disregarding their opinion entirely because like I said, it's a dumb waste of time. I do this with the AntiPA / Tier Point discussions as well.

I personally wouldnt mind if all divisions had their own user title. I think the more rewards we give per division, the better (even if just aesthetics). Current division rewards are pretty much all over the place anyway.

I disagree with your idea of multi-system for multiple reasons (complexity, not the point of the thread, ppl already complain that "precision" is too fine when you have 5 players in a division, etc). Maybe I wouldnt disagree if it was more detailed and established, but it's too big of a step for now.

Oh I know that it's all out of the scope of this particular issue, it's just sort of the place to talk about it if anywhere is.

Dismissing the need for thread in the first place, like it or not, would qualify as a contribution. The fact I'm a cunt about it is irrelevant.

I'm not heavily invested in the naming conventions and also haven't read through this entire thread yet, but

Very quick $0.02 without touching on anything else: Godly should be reserved for the highest division, so I'd repurpose that title for D9 and shift D8 to a title related to ascension in some capacity as a transition to Godly, like Celestial

Right now we have a majority of people voting for a single option, which is adding D9 as "Revolutionary". While I personally find some of the new suggested ideas better, I suggest that we go with the majority, even if only temporarily, just so we have D9 existing as a first step.

I agree with a few of the solutions that involve renaming/shifting lower divisions, so we should probably do that in a second step where we take all suggestions and put them in a tournament style vote battle, including a "keep things as is" suggestion.

Thoughts?

Users are very good at finding problems and very bad at solving them. I think in general, a large revamp should be discussed among the users, but the decision should come from the people who are

a) responsible for creating the new system and
b) responsible for deciding the general direction of the site

Ie: Feel free to solicit ideas from us, and talk it out with us, but don't feel like we're the actual decision making authority here on how to set it up.

No decision will make every active user happy, and picking the one that got the "most" votes in a 10 choice vote will probably make even fewer active users happy, since you could end up picking something that got like 20 votes out of 100, just because nothing else managed more than 20 votes.

For sure, and I fully agree with all of that. That being said, I'm not staff and I dont have website code access (sad), therefore my best bet is to gather as many opinions as I can, and try to keep the debates logically sound.

Back on topic, I kinda like the "revolutionary" name cause it makes it sound like D9 players are "revolutionizing" the game... which is the exact thing that they're doing. The meta in games is usually defined by the top players so I think that this name fits well

Either that, or do what OWA suggested and do a name shift to where the highest Div's name is Godly

Is there really a point in making a D9 when there's already only 42 people in D8? Just because one top player (i.e. Kane) is marginally better than another top player (i.e. OWA) doesn't mean one player should be ranked an entire division below the other. Like just because I'm not as good as Umbreon, Doletta and Chromium doesn't mean I'm not a D3 player. Different players in the same div can be slightly better or worse than one another.

edit: okay maybe OWA wasn't the best pick, let's say like Newson or ASharp

Stupid meme-worthy extra shit isn't needed and you're all overcomplicating something that doesn't need this level of work put into it.

Also, hard agree with this. A quantifiable number will always be better than an arbitrary adjective. Dumb shit like "MasTeR! gUrU!!! LEgEnDArY!!1!!! GODLY!!1!!11!1" has no place in something like skill quantifications of competitive players.
