open notepad -> trill on 2 letters with index fingers for 5 seconds (watch a clock) -> how many letters did you type -> divide by 5 = max notes per second for index

if you can hit 150 letters in 5 seconds then you can say that you can do 30 nps stream index lol

These were my actual trial results of the Notepad NPS Experiment:

1st Trial: 28.2 NPS
2nd Trial: 19.0 NPS
3rd Trial: 21.2 NPS
4th Trial: 22.6 NPS
5th Trial: 22.0 NPS

Average of 5 trials: 22.6 NPS

Through this experiment, my comfort zone is around 23-24 NPS for streams (containing no jumps, hands, or quads); however, an NPS of close to 30 was possible on index. The top limit represented the highest NPS I have ever achieved.

through the experiment, i would conclude that your comfort zone is from 18-20, because trilling as fast as you can represents the fastest that you can possibly go in index. Given that you have to read patterns and shift your hands around, your actual comfort zone will generally be less than that. you did not get an nps of 30 on index. you're basically just overestimating your prowess now lol. if you say that you've gone up to 30 nps in straight stream, you're basically at the top like, 15 players to ever play stepmania probably.

fyi 30 NPS is 450 BPM 16th speed. At that point the stream patterns would need to be very simple to hit properly on spread.

8th note jumps is dense jumpstream. to get to 29 nps, you assume 6 notes per beat. 29 nps/6 notes per beat~ 4.83 beats per second ~ 290 bpm jumpstream

480 bpm 8th note stream is 240 bpm stream, 4 beats per second with 4 notes in a beat, which is 16 nps which is probably more reasonable

600 bpm 12ths = 450 bpm 16ths which is about 30 nps.

check your math again because being able to sustain 290 dense jumpstream is like almost staiain levels, as is straight 450 bpm stream lol

To be fair, I did mess up my math when originally calculating the NPS at the time. Anyways, the new calculated NPS for both 8th note jumpstreams and regular streams (Containing no jumps, hands, or quads) is about 21-23 NPS (on Index).

try vertex beta on 1.5 and if you can hit the streams than you can say you can stream 20 nps

I have become pretty comfortable hitting Ultrabeatdown Supreme 1.2 (my run last night was 17 misses) but I don't know what nps or bpm it is on the faster parts.
