I was never one to be inspired by the legends to get better. I just kinda played as well as I could and never gave a damn. Other hobbies though I'm that way, but FFR, not so much.

AutotelicBrown, sorie or any other newbie that gets top 50 within 6 months or so. Idk if these people, already having rhythm game experience, come and bust er ones booty or if they just happen to find interest in ffr and rhythm gaming and still bust er ones asses.

Because of this, I try once in awhile to get better. But every time I do, I realize how much I suck.

Team Pony encouraged me to post on the forums & get to where I am now in terms of skill, because we started becoming represents in the official tournaments (and I did really well in my first tournament).

After that it was a majority of top players Dossar Staiain GammaBlaster OWA Brandon & Choof to name a few.

When I was starting out guys like Shashakiro and Bahamut-X, Thaor for SM without question.

Nowadays there are way too many insane dudes that push the envelope; when I returned to this community in ~2012, Dossar inspired me because for the longest time it was assumed he was bs back when I stopped playing in 2008 and then I see his videos and my mind just exploded. The exact same phenomenon happened with leonid and my mind exploded two-fold.

Isaac, Staiain, samurai, and Etienne all inspired me throughout 2012-present respectively because they're all unbelievable. Countless others are inspiration but not quite to that magnitude for me.

choof, firstly for getting me more involved in the community, and teaching me how to shitpost be myself on the forum, i would probably still be a nobody here if it wasnt for him and still D1 to be honest since he would push me to do better a lot

xiz for being my first ever rival and for being there for me whenever i had problems i felt like i couldnt talk to anyone else about, i really made it through some tough times cause of him. fgt needs to get to d4 so we can be rivals again >(

samurai for reasons above; helping me improve, influencing my sense of humor and being an all around great guy. he makes me the happiest girl alive and i really feel blessed to be with him (he'll make me d7 one day im sure !!)

When I was new, the people who played me in MP were the ones who helped me improve the most because they introduced me to new songs and showed me how to train.

After that it was my rivals because I'm competitive and I like winning 8) (hI raptor)

TWG was the main reason why I got into the community and loosened up enough so that I could be a jerk on the forums. I guess I also thought some people's posting styles were cool (in TWG and fiffer forums in general) and tried to like be like them or something

There were a couple people in the community who really helped me improve, know things about fiffers history and just show me that the community's a cool place (e.g. badman, samurai). Tarrik also trained me for a bit and I was trying to pass him skill-wise until very recently.

Who wouldn't want that rank, or those sexy profiles with awesome avatars, or that AvRank?

Later on, I got to become great friends with him and while we never really pushed each other (AKA he pushed me), it was always something I wanted to live up to and recently I got to compete against him in an even state.

I know this doesn't have anything to do with FFR the game, but since the OP never specifically says it has to be about the game, I'm gonna say SCWolf. The dude's a monster and any time I see him post/his progress pictures, my fitness motivation shoots through the roof.

Eze, because he managed to convince me to post/play on FFR in 2013. I kept to myself after some experiences as an under-13 back in 2009-2010 and only wandered around obscure forums after that. And YouTube. I never really liked the FFR community from the start because well, uh, I was...under 13. I didn't take the treatment too well, even though I did my best to keep my age secret. Neither did I like the game (FFR). Why? I had the same problems as Kommisar (before I tried out R^3 for the first time in 2013):
