Hey!
So recently, a lot of threads have been made about possible "Rebirth Projects", suggestions of how to make FFR a better place for newcomers, and for the general populace. I agree with a lot of you when you say "FFR needs a facelift". So this thread is dedicated to just that.
Any ideas, any at all, that you would like to see on FFR can be posted right HERE. Needless to say, this does not guarantee that they will be IMPLEMENTED, but it serves as a reference if the admins want ideas from the community. Think of this thread as a "Direct Line of Communication" between you guys (the members) and the staff (admins, moderators). I'm pretty sure that everyone, including myself, the moderators, and the admins, just want to see FFR flourish and grow as a community; therefore, if you guys have any ideas or fantastical dreams that you think would boost FFR, you can post them here.
I'm not going to write a huge wall-post, so I'll end it on a good note: FFR has been back up for almost a year now. When it re-launched, I was surprised, but also a little bit saddened, because I knew that it would never be restored to its former glory. Up until recently, I still thought that. Now that the one year mark is coming, however, I have realized that we, as a community, can make changes for a better place here. I've been (more or less) assisting the staff since I've come back, when Synth recruited me as a local moderator. I've made friends with Velo, aperson, Dom, Zageron, the mods, and the others; they are all very nice people, albeit with busy schedules. Even still, they want the best for our community. It's up to you guys to tell them what you want to see.
So post them here!
Here are some ideas from the "Possible FFR Rebirth" thread:

#31 = Honestly i think every post here should be used at some point in time. Also i think there should be a point system so as to perma ban anyone who goes over say 10 points per month. this idea would keep most people acting with some sort of restraint as to what kind of crap they can pull before paying for it.

#12 = "i personally believe we need more talk on a public forum board.
we need someone to actively update a Facebook page.
everyone and their mothers use facebook nowadays. what better way to get the word out?
There is already one made, or i would make one.
i post on my FB everytime i start to play for a while. You never know who might click the site link and sign-up.
I would also like to know if we have full access to the php code for the forums.
If so then i could make up some new icons for the forum board."

#13 = "ways to improve FFR:
- get users off of the complacency pedestal that they're sitting on
- get users to be less rude and more welcoming as a whole to everyone, rather than treating certain people like shit - I mean, look at yaboy; he gets targeted left and right for being a douchebag and acts like one because he knows that no one will ever take him seriously. i've never had issues with him on DF; he's a cool person, but that's just me
- host more events that involve the community outside of the forums; advertise tournaments with larger prize pools on the front page to get more and more people involved - this will cause newer users to trickle into the forums and more involved with the community just so as long as people are willing to be nice to newer communities
- break elitism in a lot of different things, such as segregation of skill levels (which was a good idea in theory, but worked out horribly with people trying to steal the spotlight at the top of the chain), simfiling, etc.
- enforce rules as they're written, and follow through with them for everyone, regardless of who they are. There's a lot of people who think they can get away with acting like pricks to anyone/everyone and that will detract users from joining"

#35 = Since we're focusing on a renaissance in the community instead of just new bells and whistles to add to the site itself, I'm thinking that the FFR "sample pack" on Kongregate that went up before the big crash needs to be expanded and updated. Seeing as I've seen ads in brick-and-mortar game stores like GameStop for the site, this hardly seems like a bad time investment.
