    The Blockbuster Crusade

Saturday night, I saw The Truman Show for the first time.

I realized that there's alot of good movies I haven't seen. So on Sunday I decided to rent every single movie anyone has ever suggested. I started with Man on the Moon, and 12 Monkeys.

Anyone got suggestions? Should I get that black and white movie The Seven Samurai?

Oh, crap. Defnitiley get "Igby Goes Down", uh... "Matchstick Men" "The Big Lebowski"...

I'll have more later. I'm a movie buff, so I know of a lot of ones out there.

"A new take on the epic fantasy genre... Darkly comic, relatable characters... twisted storyline."

"Readers who prefer tension and romance, Maledictions: The Offering, delivers... As serious YA fiction, I’ll give it five stars out of five. As a novel? Four and a half." - Liz Ellor

    My new novel:

    Maledictions: The Offering.

    Now in Paperback!

      Meh.

I've done this with Whorli... as she saw practically no movies before me, I've spent 2 years showing her tons of great movies.

      Rainman
      Apocalypse Now (original, not redux)
Hackers (too funny not to see)
      Full Metal Jacket
      The Sting
      Boiler Room
Snatch / Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels
      Rounders

All Tarantino films: Jackie Brown, Pulp Fiction, & Reservoir Dogs

      Boondock Saints
      The Rock
      Shawshank Redemption

Probably 10+ more... and I didn't include any "stupid" humor movies, like Van Wilder, Dodgeball, etc.

          The Evil Dead series.
          Reckless Kelly (Yahoo Serious)
Legend (story is alright, but the visuals...oh my god)
Flight of the Dragons (an old animated movie. 80's?)
All Miyao Hayazaki films (Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, Laputa etc)
All Akira Kurasawa films (Seven Samurai is a must)
Naked Space (one of Leslie Neilson's first movies I think. It's cheesy, but it makes up for it in monster awesomeness)
          Friends (Korean)

I know of some really good Japanese/Korean movies, but there are no translations or anything. Bummer for you guys.

            Not for me. Do share.

Try to find Brazil too. But only if it is the UK version. <3 Moogy.

My next were going to be Clerks and Full Metal Jacket, but then I got distracted by this.

So my two will be Red Shadow and Seven Samurai, even though Red Shadow might end up not being good.

Clerks is amazing. As I said above, I didn't include any comedy movies... but all 5 of Kevin Smith's films are classic. Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay & Bob Strike Back (see last).

                FMJ I listed.

the first part of FMJ is the best. After that it feels like it loses cohesion. Plus all anyone ever wants to see is Sgt. Hartman.

Must see that haven't been said: The Royal Tenenbaums, Dirty Work, Training Day
Should see: Four Rooms, The Girl Next Door, Man on Fire, Shaun of the Dead, everything Tass said.
Awesome action-packed movie with Bruce Willis: The Last Boy Scout
                    Nice.

                      Actiony: Equilibrium

It is hands down the gratest actiony movie I have ever seen. It has a good plotline as well, but seriously, the fights are freaking amazing.

Comedy: Mystery Men, Major Payne, The Blues Brothers

                      Horror-ish: The Others

I kinda have eccentric tastes... but here you go.

What I think you'd like if you liked 12 Monkeys:
                            Collateral
                            Raiders of the Lost Ark
                            Fight Club
                            Se7en
                            Requiem for a Dream
                            2001: A Space Odyssey
                            The Sixth Sense
                            Terminator

                            Some warm and fuzzy stuff:
                            Freaky Friday
                            A Walk to Remember
                            Spiderman
