ITG >DDR officially from experience

it is official. ITG>DDR

Though it has less songs than DDR it has a greater variety and (in my opinion) better quality of music. The smiley songs alone (Delirium, Xuxa, July etc..) are enough to bring the quality of music higher

Also, ITG is way more challenging than DDR. When you Finish a song on Hard (the equivalent to heavy in DDR) you feel like you have really accomplished something. The two hardest songs (Hardcore of the north and pandemonium) are 13 footers on the ITG Scale. I think these would rate an easy 15 on the DDR Scale. But they arent just randomly retarded steps. The steps are built in similar ways to the Keyboard style steps we all love and enjoy. They go to the beat instead of being random. The two songs (Pandemonium and Hardcore of the north) are like a passable keyboard sim that is just out the reach of the Hardcore DDR players with Pandemonium being slightly harder than BMR's A.

ITG has blown a fresh breath into the Dancing Game Genre. Bringing to the table mods that have only been seen in SM and ofcourse the well knwon but hated mines. Only one version of DDR has ever had a batlle mode. ITG has brung this Battle mode to a new level by adding the feature of changing mods to confuse or mess you up ig you are beating your opponent. These changing mods help to add challenge and excitement to battle games and gives a whole new feel to the game.

So... the shortened version is ITG is better than DDR kthxbai

All depends on the player still. I like it better however. I like the use of a USB drive to keep track of your scores, and also the fact that the songs are 2 minutes long each. Keeps a good amount of stamina. Also, the marathon courses are fun, being mostly filled with mods that pop in and out. There are a few courses that don't have mods though. That and through Marathon is the only way to play Liquid Moon on ITG.

Oh, and HotN isn't a 13. It's a 12. Pandemonium is the only 13 on ITG.

I dont like it just because I like DDR for being DDR. So in my opinion its not as good. But that doesnt mean that it sucks.

oooh gardyloo and the sarcasm continues.

Anyway, I was told that djsmalls made this thread with the intention of pissing me off since I recently attempted to have a rules thread stickied XD I never said that DDR > ITG, I just said that threads with ZERO CONTENT other than "LAWL I JUST TRIED ITG AND IT MAKES DDR LOOK BAD LYEK OMG." shouldn't be tolerated, and need to be locked/or even deleted.

Anyway, to contribute... I haven't tried ITG yet, but I will in a few days. Canada only has about 2 ITG machines ATM, one being somewhere in BC, and one that was recently put in Calgary. I'm going to Calgary this easter...since the ITG machine is located in the same mall as this AMAZING DIM SUM RESTAURANT (hoooly shiit yummm...) I'll be getting my fair share of both DDR and ITG. wish me luck. I'm willing to bet money that I'll like ITG more than DDR too =\

Actually, the ddr disney mix has the same concept of battle mode, but they call it something else(I forgot the name. Some sort of magic card thingy or something...)
ITG is awesome, and there are quite a few where I live in California. The difficulty is extreme, and I can only pass a couple songs on crazy or expert (I forgot again...)
I really like all the mods, they add a nice touch. However, the game makes you fell dumb when you only get a 60% for your score. I would much prefer a giant 50000000 point score than a 60%. ^_^

RE: Re: ITG >DDR officially from experience

I'm hearing many rumors about one of the arcades in Kansas City getting an ITG and ITG2 Machine. (I don't know about ITG2.) I need to play some ITG simfiles, where can I get all of the simfiles, that have backgrounds and banners?

The only thing I won't like about ITG are Mines. I'm seeing jumps on Hardcore of the North, and on the other two spaces are mines. That would throw me off track and get me misses, so I'll rarely play with Mines. Hands I don't have a problem with.

I really want to play ITG to see wether I like DDR more or not but I can tell I'll really like ITG. I just don't like what the arrows look like on ITG. My arcade should be getting an ITG machine sometime this week so I'll post my thoughts later in the week. If we actually get an ITG machine =/

Mines really aren't that bad Gamepro. You get used to them easily. If you're not after a few plays, play with mines on SM.

I would order ITG for the PS2... but my money is kinda short.

I saw some ITG videos but aside from that I'm in the dark. Is the game going be sold in stores or just over the Internet? It looks really good.

It'll most likely be sold in stores. I mean, afterall, they ARE selling Ignition 2.0 pads. Why not ITG? But right now, I'd pre-order it and get some of the specials that come with it, although not that much. The soundtrack should be available soon anyways after the release of ITG for the PS2.

Well, in Ontario, I had to order my pads from either Red Octane's or EB's websites. No stores sell 'em here

I'd get ITG either way.

By the way, Gamespot has some screens of it, they never actually announced it, but I just searched for In The Groove to see if it was there and it was
