    The RADICALLY UNAUTHORIZED Garfield Dating Sim

    Hello everyone,

    I've hinted this a few times but I'm building a game for Nanoreno 2020: The RADICALLY UNAUTHORIZED Garfield Dating Sim. I am posting an early thread here since I want to continually get feedback before I make the official announcement on the Lemmasoft forums. The game will be completely free for all users.

    As of now, I'm almost done with the script writing. I'll be updating this thread with production progress and game details over the next few weeks. Sometime within the end of the month I'll be looking for some beta testers who are able to give feedback on storytelling, directing, and overall design.

    Let me know in thread or DM if you might be interested--- no commitment necessary. Please note that there will be potentially distressing content. I am happy to elaborate if requested as to not accidentally upset anybody. The target demographic will be PG-13, with content warnings for thematic content and disturbing imagery. (No violence or gore.)

                                      Jon Arbuckle

                                      The protagonist of this story. After a streak of comedic misses, this cartoonist has finally started to discover comic success with his new strip, titled "Garfield." Despite his artistic talent, Jon's life is perfectly mediocre. No hobbies beyond sock collecting and polka dancing, no strong social relationships. If Jon ever leaves his house, what kind of world might he discover?



                                      Garfield

                                      It's Garfield. Love him or hate him, we all know who he is. He is the subject of Jon's burgeoning newspaper comic.

                                      Even though felines can't talk (obviously), there are few bonds stronger than the one between a man and his cat. As such, Jon generally knows Garfield's mannerisms well enough to understand how he feels. Garfield... has his quirks.



                                      What shenanigans might this treacherous tabby create for our feckless hero?

                                      Dr. Liz Wilson

                                      Liz is a prodigy veterinarian and Jon's go-to for regular checkups for Garfield. She's sardonic and acerbic, inciting no shortage of bashfulness from Jon, the helpless romantic. Their relationship is totally platonic though, totally!

                                                      Davis always seemed like the kind of guy who sees fan projects as fan projects. I think he was even slow in getting bootleg merch off the shelves back in the day (felt like it anyway)

                                                      But considering the clusterfuck of copyright and the fact that third parties run that shit I wouldn't doubt if something comes of it.

                                                      Jim Davis does actually own all of Garfield and Paws, IIRC, so if any company was gonna let you be I'd wager it's this one.

                                                          Doesn't Nickelodeon now own some of the rights to Garfield?
