    What are we all gonna do when Windows 10 comes out?

    With the free upgrade from 7 and 8/8.1, there's no reason we shouldn't all switch right? FFR simply doesn't play well at all on Windows 8.1. Sure you can get a lucky lag/jitter-free run once in a blue moon, but it's simply unreliable and very rage inducing. Assuming Windows 10 uses the same kind of shit that makes Flash and FFR seem to take a shit all over everything, what are we all going to do come July 29th?

    My scores and overall interest in the game have dwindled since I switched to Windows 8 with a new computer since it's simply unplayable at the same level I was used to with Windows 7. I find myself having to grind the same song over 30 times to get the same score I might have gotten in 10 tries before. Every time I check my suggested Judge Offset it's different for some reason when it never used to be like that.

    I'd say, if you care about your performance in this game and are fine with your current OS, don't upgrade until:
    A) The waters have been tested and it turns out FFR doesn't have any issues on Windows 10.
    B) A new version of FFR comes out that works better with Windows 10.
    C) Wait until the last day to upgrade to Windows 10 for free.
    D) Don't upgrade at all.

    In the meantime, I'd be happy to see if anyone has suggestions for making FFR run better on Windows 8.

              Well, seeing as how Amazon screwed me by selling me a fake copy of windows (got a refund at least) and I had to do some workarounds to make it think it was genuine up until a few months ago when it randomly stopped believing me and started telling me it was fake and I should care about it, but I don't and kept on using it anyway, I'll probably upgrade so I can have a background that isn't just a black screen.

                                  I'll be upgrading as soon as I can. FFR is like the only thing that runs worse on windows 8.1 (in my experience) but that's more of a problem with flash being dumb.

                                  However I've gotten so used to having a full screen start menu that switching back to the normal one will be kinda weird.

                                          actually, windows 8 seems to be the best platform for me too run FFR on. My scores have jumped since I play it, and lag is next to none. I used IOS, windows vista and windows xp. I use a lenovo ideapad s210 (intel pentium), which seems underpowered as hell, yet still provides me with this top-notch experience (hakulyte played it at anime north and wanted to switch computers). I have no idea on what planet I live at the moment.

                                              You've found the perfect standalone FP and computer settings to be doing so well. If you don't mind what FP and settings you're using it could help rushy out with his troubles.

                                                          I'm hesitant on this new upgrade, I'll probably just keep watching this thread to see how this new "Windows 10" does for everyone.

                                                          2 outcomes I see happening from this release:

                                                          A) Everything is normal and is just like using windows 7 in terms of FFR.
                                                          B) Everything is not normal, FFR becomes unusable, and the site basically dies for most windows users.
