                      theres not stepmania god who will punish you for not doing it, but it makes it easier for everyone else to read since most people do play upscroll

                              Don't listen to anyone - as Kommi said, use whatever you would like for previews. Play on your default settings, but give your regards to those who might read a little slower than you if you read faster than normal. C600 is probably a respectable speed for file previewing, regardless of scroll direction.

                                  one easy solution would just have two-player mode on and have one scroll up and the other down

                                              downscroll caters to a smaller audience and for some people like me, downscroll is not only difficult for playing, but genuinely confuses me to look at

                                                  I'm pretty sure DDR and it's derivatives are basically the only single direction scrolling rhythm game that has upscroll default.

                                                          Do people honestly have a hard time looking at a chart with downscroll? I mean I can't play downscroll for shit but I can still recognize the patterns in a video....
