It's nothing new. North Korea has a history of sabre-rattling just to get free shit because its run so poorly and can't sustain itself otherwise. They are unlikely to attack the US head-on (and if they did it would be on the west coast / probably the SF area, not NYC).
Besides, their missile tech sucks right now and so if they seriously did try to attack us, their projectiles would probably fall into the water. They'd be more likely to direct attacks at US assets in HK/Japan/SK/China/etc.

Basically NK is like the drunk guy who shows up at the bar while you're out with your friends -- he runs out of money and starts yelling at people/making idle threats until someone walks over, tells him to shut the fuck up, and gives him a beer to keep him quiet. If that guy ever tried to pull something, he'd just get the shit kicked out of him.Comment
