This... I... just... ugh.
I'm surprised nobody's made a thread about this yet. I've never been a huge fan of the Star Wars series to begin with, and I generally disliked the prequel trilogy. Only the original trilogy got a positive reaction from me.
Also, rarely does a Disney film come along that doesn't irk me. I don't claim to be some kind of uptight film critic but ads for Disney films are usually all over the internet and television stations, they explode at the box office, but when I get around to them a year later via piracy or three years later via the DVD bargain bin at a local pawn shop, they're almost always the same: visually appealing but with a very flat storyline.
Of course that's just my opinion and I'm sure there are people here that love Disney films and I won't criticize those people. But this I must ask: does Disney really need to keep buying all this stuff? They nearly have a media monopoly by now, wouldn't you think?
Anyway, this thread is for the discussion of this media merger and of the upcoming Star Wars film.
