Seeing all these people step music only slightly out of the ordinary, I stepped this:

Would Blacklodge be acceptable for this?
Sample in spoiler (maybe even the song I would step)

Re: [4-key Pack] hi19hi19's Non-Stepman Music Pack [Submissions Open]
My general rule is nothing easier than Power on FFR and nothing Staiain can't pass.
I think that's a suitable difficulty range, no?
A bit "OSTER Project fake jazz-ish" but honestly I will have no problem accepting this. It's a great song and will almost surely make for a nice file.
I'm glad this pack is motivating you to step, there's no harm in trying!
Yes.
Extremely yes :P
This is quite suitably "different" sounding metal. As Scintill noted it is only slightly out of the ordinary but it works for this pack I suppose.Would Blacklodge be acceptable for this?

Anyway reviews tonight, sorry. Been busy.Last edited by hi19hi19; 09-22-2012, 04:25 PM.Comment

Reviews:
Transparent World (eiddiM)
Rejected straight up for song choice.
Vocaloid speedmetal, really bro...
I was charitable and gave the oni chart a play anyway and it's got potential.
Stay away from so many split triplet-jump patterns (such as 3 1 [24], instead use 2 1 [24] or 1 2 [34] that kind of thing)
Your stream patterns are... weird. They don't play like a cohesive stream, instead lots of little gallops and triplet patterns. Reminded me of the way Dossar used to step streams, look at his old Brutality Tournament stream files haha. Try to "connect" the patterns of your stream a little more, as a general rule the more adjacent arrows there are the easier it is to read and more flowing to play... I can't really explain it with words well but suffice it to say the stream patterns are kinda awkward.
Also the fact the intro was all weird colors and there were some sections that clearly had blue note syndrome means you should check the sync.
Maybe fix it up a little send it to another pack, good luck man
Reefer Man (Scintill)
Yes.
Seriously I ****in love you Scintill.
I honestly have nothing bad to say at all about this chart. I can only hope the rest of the pack is this good.
I'd appreciate if you made another chart though broski <3
EDIT- I'm trying my hardest to find something wrong with this file lol
22.5 those jumps should have a little swing IMO, straight 16th jacks plays a little weird. The third chord is after the 8th beat. Same with 26.1 etc.
I think you missed a little bit of piano at 55.7 but then again I can also see why you could have consciously chosen not to step it.
Sync also seems about 15-20 ms early in places but perfect in others, not a huge deal with a live song like this though.
Really though this file is amazing haha, so fun and the song is just the kind of thing I had in mind for this pack.Last edited by hi19hi19; 09-22-2012, 05:15 PM.Comment

Re: [4-key Pack] hi19hi19's Non-Stepman Music Pack [Submissions Open]
Yes but I will bug you constantly about remembering to make the other chart if you do so.
p.s. consider this advance warning for you Scintill
Ugh do I really have to make an email?
zzz was hoping everyone could just PM me a link on mediafire/sendspace/file-sharing site of your choice but if you want an email I can make one.
If you are going to step Ave Maria step the Bach-Gounod version because the piano backing will give you many more sounds to step.
Plus that version is shorter and sounds better IMO
Hayley Westenra does a really good job singing it, I'd totally recommend this to step !_!
I can totally see a file for this with holds to the vocals and the piano layered alongside it... could be really fun.Last edited by hi19hi19; 09-22-2012, 10:25 PM.Comment

Re: [4-key Pack] hi19hi19's Non-Stepman Music Pack [Submissions Open]
I thought it was just obscure enough to slide in since I can only name one vocaloid "speed metal" song though I can name two vocametal songs and that's about it. But hey maybe I'll find something elseReviews:

Also Reefer Man is a ****in' sexy chart. Scin was kind enough to send it to me so I could see it and I gotta say it makes me instantly want to dl the pack when it's done.
But thank you very much for the advice, if anything it's worth my disappointed feeling. I really want to spruce this up and make it really playable since I imagine my issue has been in the past my charts have little replay value.
If I don't get around to stepping something else for this, best of luck.
