Re: Best Guitar Solo in a song

Guys, there is no point in arguing in this thread. There is no right or wrong answer to this. Veruc likes rhapsody, big deal. Mind likes techno, big deal. This thread should be based on opinions not right and wrong.

    For short:

No one gives a **** so stfu.

I only wanted to see how mad mindfields would get at me rofl.

I still stich with my previous things, and i do like quite a few dragonforce/rhapsody solos, more dragonforce there though, rhapsody has that cool sacred frce of raging winds WINDS SOLO.

See, I agree with Benny on that one, where the flute or whatever crosses over to the guitars. But there are no good/only fake files of that on LimeWire, which makes me hate the band 2% more.

PS You shouldn't provoke people like that.

I am going to nominate Bark at the Moon, and Crossroads as two songs with the most badassedness solos of all time. Especially Crossroads. How many songs are there where all 3 guys in the band solo at the same time, for over a minute and a half? I love that shiz.

Oh, and Slayer's Angel of Death, everything in that song (excluding bass) has it's own solo, now that's good work right there.

I was thinking of saying crossroads but it's definately not best of all time.

Angel of Death is so awesome.

But no you guys are wrong.

Al Di Meola's Elegant Gypsy album has some of the finest guitar work. But you guys don't know who he is it seems, because if you did you would have mentioned him.

Mentioning RHAPSODY before Slayer is unacceptable, kill yourselves. Even though I hate dumb fairy metal, Dragonforce's solos ARE pretty cool I guess.

Al Di Meola was on a quest in the 1970s to become the world's fastest guitarist. If he wasn't at the time, he was damn close. This was before dumb shred where it was like "lol 50972498732 notes per second!", Al Di Meola is extremely complex and the musicality is unrivaled.

Listen to "Race With The Devil on a Spanish Highway" for crazy guitar skills. Flight Over Rio is pretty intense in some parts, it is funny because there is a guy playing on a synth behind him as fast as he can, and he is just blown away by the speed of Di Meola.

Casino is a better album if I recall correctly, but Elegant Gypsy's Race with The Devil is just so nuts.

This is pretty damn fast, Hr2, but it's not constant. If that guy could keep his speed up for over 3 minutes, I'd be amazed. It's a damn cool song and damn good guitar work none-the-less.

Lol, its your own fault if you take the bait. Seriously, you took one comment way out of proportion and started swearing and yelling.

Didn't you know that 'solo' refers to one person playing? Interesting bit of information, i just thought you might want to know that for future reference.

Very true, this is an interest thread and i just wanted to know who has (IN THEIR OPINION) played the best solo. So dont argue like that anymore, if you feel it necessary to tell someone that they are wrong to like a certain type of band, then please do it in PMs.

Lynyrd Skynyrd's Freebird, Pink Floyd's Comfortably Numb, Guns N'Roses November Rain, Chuck Berry's Johnny Be Good, Eagles Hotel California. Steve Vai's music is basically all guitar solos, good songs are Building the Church, umm Get the Hell out of Here.

Ya, Steve Vai does that song. He has lots of really good songs, but he's a queer. Up on stage at his concerts he has a fan that follows him around to blow his hair back. =(

Edit: Eternal Rest by Avenged Sevenfold, one of the best intros to a song I've heard in quite a while, compares to Rhapsody even.

Stop listening to Rhapsody, almost comparing to Rhapsody means you are really terrible.

But Avenged Sevenfold is really terrible, so the description is accurate.
