Zoom in like a maniac and cut it with the knife tool.

Well, that's how I've learned to do it.
There's probably a much, much easier way.

Look for this at the top:



Change it to 1/3 beat for triplets and 1/2 step for 32nds.

EXACTLY. (Unless you're like most "professional" Reason users who, no matter how good the song, insist that Reason is still better. [shox])

Another REALLY good example of a FLStudio user:
SaxxonPike. His music is beautiful.. seriously. I've seen his project files and he has completely taken FLStudio to a whole new level.

Thanks for the compliment. IMO, it's not so much what you use, but what you can do with the tools you have.

the thing with FL is that you have to take time with it. I tried FL reading the tutorials and personally it seemed like they were written for college grads with dual majors in english and speech with a minor in how to make things hard on people. trial and error is about it. and buying/ attaining packs for the software. talk to people about getting better sound and whatnot

Man, almost everybody on FFR uses FLS. Darkstalker-X, iPacth, Starshot (DJS), and (I think) Jewpin.

I want to ask, how much money are FLS, Acid, and Reason? I guess I could look it up, but since we're here.....

I used to use Fruity Loops back when I first started making music, but now I do all my songs solely using Buzzmachines. It's free, and it's the best damn program I've used. I didn't pay one dime for my music production set up and I pride myself on that.

Real men use Buzz.

Also, trial an error is the way to go. Explore all the synths, turn all the knobs, press all the buttons. Familiarize yourself with the terms, and what does what. Most importantly, SAVE YOUR FILE OFTEN.

Yeah, I remember talking to Spook a few years ago and hearing about how he lost all his music files. Don't let this happen to you.
