I just looked at this locked thread by Taking back monday and i went along the lines of saying that if you follow the rules of your "faith" then you go to what ever Heaven that has been set. He then went on to bag out Muslims saying they were crazy and their religon was based on killing others. I'm not big on the whole Islamic faith, but i shouldn't think that they're whole religion is based one killing others for their different belifes.

but anyway, if a supreme being could possibly exist (stated in point 1), and the definition of a supreme being is one that necessarily exists...

but all in all very intruiging. I'm still reading the LWS replies and whatnot.

In the bible it's said if you commit suicide you go to hell. but then that still proves that God exists. Becuase in a way people who are Satanist are still basically christian. if you accept Satan the you accept christianity as a relgion becuase with out it there would be no Satan.

Satanism is not the worship of satan, but rather the worship of oneself, the opposite of Christian values, hence being called Satanism.

Arguing about definitions is pointless. The definition of God will be coherent. Arguing about the rules of logic is pointless. The rules are the standard rules of S5 modal logic, and assume a Euclidean relation among worlds. And arguing about the fallacies of Anselm's ontological argument is pointless. Although this argument is initially based on his, it is not his, and arguing against his is a straw man.

Okay, so the argument follows a Euclidian model.

For example, the statement that a circle's circumference is a ratio of pi to its diameter describes a possible world, but not the actual world and not a necessary world. The statement is true only in a world of flat planes. The actual world is a world of curved space, and while pi can approximate the ratio sufficiently for nearly every conceivable purpose, circles in the actual world conform to non-Euclidean geometries. Therefore, since the actual world is a possible world, and the statement is not true in the actual world, the statement does not describe a necessary world.

Okay, you admit the actual world is non-Euclidian. Your logic is based on a Euclidian model. How can you prove the existance of something using Euclidian logic in a non-Euclidian world?

Suicide and murder (equivalent in Christianity) are mortal sins. If you die with mortal sin, you go to hell.

EDIT: Okay, so maybe it doesn't mention suicide explicitly, but it is equivalent to murder, and we all know how the Bible frowns upon murder.

People saw the parting of the Red Sea, but they were still unbeliveing.

People saw the miracles of Jesus but still were unbelieving.

Point being if you saw a sign, that wouldn't necessarily change your views anyway.

Did you see those? no. No one alive saw those. I saw a whole tv show on the parting of the red sea. There was a huge thing about a volcano erupting and when tides come they suck in water and it sucked in the water and blah. Either that or the translation was ****ed up and it was really the sea of reads they crossed which isnt very big at all. Who knows they just make that **** up.

If i saw a sign like that. I might consider changing my mind. But it will never happen. The lack of god and signs ever since people were intellegent seems to play a big role.

And it's not possible for a god or gods to exist (fact)

I'm not going to argue, and the second one is not an opinion. Do not try to explain to me that it is, because it's not.
