Nice table, large bed, and the rent looks cheap for the room.

        *chess rage*

        EVERYONE does it wrong.

White on right. Queens and Kings opposite each other. Queen on color. There should be an instruction manual that comes packaged with every set these days, I swear to ****ing god.

Sick that you got a full terabyte on that beast, though, and the rest of the place looks pretty tight as well. I've been meaning to look around for a place just to get away from the drama under Mom's roof (sad, I know, move on pl0x), but me being about 11 miles from downtown Detroit means everything's going to shit.

As for that ratio you posted: Rent = 350 per month / estimated 300 per week * .87 for taxes. (300x.87 = 261)

1044 / 350 = 2.98 ratio. So I make 3 times the amount of rent I pay per month at my job, assuming I get 35 hours per week. I quite frequently go around 40 - 43 hours per week doing marketing along with regular working.
What I meant was 350/(300*4*.87) = 33.5% of your disposable income goes towards rent.

Over here in NYC for many people it can be nearly half or more -- and most places require that your gross annual income be at least 40 times the monthly rent over here. So if rent is $1000/month, you need a salary of $40,000.

Next logical question: What is there to do where you live?

What is there to do here? Not a whole lot. Springfield, MO is pretty much a college town. A really large college town. Probably has 170,000 people in it during the school year and probably 125,000 during the summer. It has a super expensive theme park in Branson, MO, about 30 miles from here that I would never go to. Water park or two around here, zoo, ice skate park, some other things like that. I live about 1 mile away from downtown so I could go to concerts easily if I wanted to but nobody ever comes here for cheap

                    Re: New Apartment

That's a decent sized town, and at least you have a couple of things to do. Don't know if you've ever been to CA or NY, but it does indeed become apparent why it costs so much to live in either one.

How much is the average house price over there?

                        Re: New Apartment

Where I'm at is about the cheapest place to live in the country. Financial rivals would be like Wyoming or the Dakota's

The north half of the town has houses that are 50 years old or older. The south half of town has houses that are 15 years old or newer. It's hard to gauge what the home prices are. I'd have to guess a median of 100 - 125,000 dollars
