If we take into account all that has happened in the past, we can try to prevent these things from repeating themselves. Since not enough people do that, it's almost inevitable that it will happen again.
This, by the way, is one good reason we study history, for those that like to rant about its uselessness as a subject in school.
At least Bill O'Reilly forms his own opinions from time to time.
