Re: Things I Hate (and that other people can relate to)
I hate when people make threads specifically to tell everyone about the completely meaningless, trivial things that they say they 'hate' but are really just 'slightly annoyed by'.4th Official FFR Tournament - Master division champion!

Re: Things I Hate (and that other people can relate to)
Things that annoy me and things I hate are different things, really. So, to keep on topic, these are the things I hate and get my blood boiling, in no particular order:
1. Passive-aggressive type people who try to project an aura of kindness, but will really dick you over if they're upset. My hatred for this trait is twofold: 1. It's a very weak way to express your anger. It's oftentimes better to simply be direct. 2. Usually you can't even tell what they're angry about. I used to have a passive-aggressive friend who would do things like avoid eye contact when he was upset, and if my group of friends went to go do something, he'd make snide remarks and act generally rude all night. All over stupid crap that could have been resolved had he just spoke up about it ("Wah wah I'm upset you didn't invite me to come eat Chinese the other night" -- well we asked EVERYONE at once who wanted to go, and you didn't speak up. Ungh).
2. People who waste my time. I don't want to take an hour out of my busy schedule to waste time listening to someone talk about crap that could have just been sent in an Email.
3. Those who lack empathy and seem to make every decision in life without factoring in anybody else. Life isn't always about you, and it's important to be able to look beyond yourself.
4. Drinking irresponsibly. It's one thing to get really drunk with your friends and have a good time, but it's another thing to get so wasted that you wind up becoming a burden on everyone else and/or becoming extremely dangerous and putting the lives of others at risk. My dad was killed in a car crash because he had consumed too much alcohol. While my dad was not necessarily an extremely booksmart man, he was one of the most brilliant I've ever known, and it was so stupid and irresponsible of him to put the lives of other drivers at risk like that, let alone his own.
Sub-annoyance: People who aren't really drunk but act more intoxicated than they really are. It's so easy to spot and it's just so embarrassing to witness.
5. People who try to debate with me who refuse to acknowledge points. This absolutely makes me want to kill people. This is different, by the way, from ignorance. If someone debates something but makes an incorrect assumption simply because of a factoid they weren't aware of, then that's fine. Sometimes that's a matter of exposure, and nobody is exposed to everything. But if you're literally refusing to acknowledge or refute counterpoints in an attempt to fit your own argument to a flawed set of truths, then you're wasting everyone's time. If your argument or theory doesn't hold up, reject it or refine it, but don't continue arguing it if it's clear you're ignoring things that clearly oppose what you're saying.
6. Rapists/murderers/those who resort to violence. Lowest of the low.
7. People who cheat in relationships. Grow a backbone and bring your problems/issues up with whomever you're with. If it doesn't work out, then break it off. But don't be a spineless coward and think that cheating is an acceptable solution. It never is, and will usually wind up backfiring in some form.
8. Those with unwarranted judgment about the lifestyles of others. I don't care what you do with your life as long as you aren't burdening others and interfering the lives of others negatively. If your life makes you happy, then more power to you.

I hate that too. My mom doesn't want me playing football outside because she says that my skin will get darker, and that I'll look like a Mexican, and she thinks that Mexican people are bad (not my opinion). I think she's crazy sometimes.Comment
