    Re: Why Today's World Sucks.

Arrogance is arrogance when you start thinking that being better than someone in some aspect entitles you to disrespect that person.
Question: Did you actually read my whole post? This was totally addressed in the body of the text. Why is there something inherantly wrong with you respecting that in some field I'm superior to you? That doesn't make me better than you, it makes me better than you -at that-

If "that" happens to be "absolutely everything we can think of" then is it really so fundamentally bad to admit that maybe some people actually are better than other people?

Yeah, I actually did read the whole post, and I wasn't arguing with you, I was simply adding to what you were saying.

If you misunderstood that, my bad. I respect your experience in this field, so if somehow my post came off wrong, sorry again.

Here we watch a 'devonin' in its natural habitat. Do not make false accusations, or provocative judgments, for it is well known through observing him in his natural habitat that the devonin will lash out with logical, and often stimulating responses. The devonin consumes multiple variations of logical fallacies to satisfy its voracious appetite, and often leaves no carrion for the philosophical scavengers.

The devonin does not fear his surroundings, and takes a commanding position atop the thought chain. It is recommended to avoid confrontation; however, if engaged, one must keep their wits about them and remain calm. We are aware that the devonin is capable of predicting illogical arguments and preemptively striking to prevent any intellectual damage to the surrounding population.

        Danger Rating: 10/10

          You're funny, foilman.

Moches, I suppose I should have quoted more of your post to make it more clear exactly what issue I was raising there. You're saying "Instead of equality, I mean everyone should respect everyone else" to which I really have to say "why?"

What is it about an ignorant bigoted racist that I should respect? What is it about someone who takes glee in causing other people to suffer needlessly that I should respect?

We should respect how marvellously flawed they are?
I should respect people because of their flaws? In spite of their flaws? Aren't flaws by definition not worthy of respecting?

The "fighting fire with fire" rule applies.

Many people, if confronted unfairly, then will lash back, but what does that really solve? Isn't this just becoming a cycle of hate? I know from experience that fire to fire will only create a bigger fire, thus creating a bigger fire, until the fire is so big it burns everything out. So "respect" in this case would be to let their fires burn out on their own.

As for flaws, I admit you are mostly correct there. Whereas flaws are not worthy of respect, "respect" over here would be to tolerate the person instead of hating them for one flaw.

I guess respect applies differently in different situations.

                    Re: Why Today's World Sucks.

If you want to be appropriately cynical and Nietzschean about it, the correct way to deal with those weaker than yourself who are trying to start something with you is to simply ignore them. Either ignore their feeble attempts to confront you, or accept it as a valid confrontation and crush them for trying. Dealing with an inferior as an equal is one of the surest signs of weakness in Nietzschean philosophy. Basically, if they can actually manage to challenge you in a meaningful way, either they are stronger than you thought they were, or you are weaker than you think you are.

There's no good or evil in there, there's not a value judgement of any kind, which seems to be what you find problematic. Most people are stuck in the idea that calling something "strong" vs "weak" or "good" vs "bad" necessarily entails a value judgement (If I say that was a bad meal, I'm saying that it rates poorly compared to other meals, or was just below some standard I've set for a good meal) but the point that is trying to be made here is that applying moral judgements to any of this is fallacious, because morality is just a construction of people who are looking for a way to either blame someone else for being strong and knowing it, or to excuse their own inability to accept their weakness.

You make it sound that everyone is conceited, whereas that is most certainly not true.

What you're basically asking for is a world with a leader that has NO free will and people with NO free will either? What the hell. You might as well lock up everyone in cages.
I was saying no leadership, since it wouldn't be necessary where everyone does the same thing and needs no real direction because of it. Unless it was controlled by a deity or something.

Er...afraid not on that one. I'm asserting that you -say- everyone is concieted in some way. I know this to be true because of your direct quote: "We all are in some way about some thing."

                                So that's pretty much anarchy.

No government, no leader, no control = chaos.

People would not survive because there would be no order, no matter what country you live in. We might as well live as cavemen because most people only even do their jobs these days because they HAVE to, not because they want to, knowing there are higher-ups who depend on them to work and keep society running the way it is.
