That sounds terrible. I hope for the best, for you and for him.

I have a family member that is going to die shortly because of cancer, so I know that it can be a nasty feeling to have lingering around in your mind...especially during the holidays.

so you're basically agreeing with me that this is a religious based thread, which isn't welcome on ffr, like i said before. if you're so damn supportive of the OP then then you shouldn't contradict him/her.

Ummm...no! I'm agnostic and I feel that this person's family is going through trouble right now. People can at least acknowledges it and hope the best for them (without saying "I won't prey because that's for drones but best wishes).

Also if you thought I was mocking you Angilic I wasn't...I was simply saying be prepared for it and it will be hard for you to be accepted into the community as many including I think the vast majority of emo's are whiny and don't have any serious personal problems.
I wasn't saying you were mocking me. And I do have serious problems, and I assure you I'm not whiny.

Yes, thats exactly what I'm saying. The name of the thread itself should have been a huge clue. And by the way, I wasnt contradicting the OP at all.

Ok fido thats true. I should have realized there were others that didn't believe in God but still wanted to show their support. I apologize if I offended you or anyone else.

BTW sorry for completely throwing this thread off topic.

Edit: I still think this is a religion based thread.

Hah, I never said I didn't believe in God. To the contrary, I believe rather firmly in God. I just don't believe you or I can convince him to change what he's doing. I love to lie down and pray for a hundred wonderful things before I sleep as much as the next person, but I know that God's going to do what he's going to do, and the prayers of a ridiculous mortal like myself are probably little more than an individual buzz from an infinite beehive, more for my own comfort then for the expectation of their fulfillment. If you believe in an almighty and just God, then you believe what is happening to the OP's cousin is part of his plan. In asking him to change this, you're telling the whole world you think you know better than God. If the OP's cousin gets better, fantastic. I don't want the kid to die, I know it hurts to lose a loved one. I just don't illusion myself with the thinking that I can change his fate if I whine really loudly for him.

Re: Please pray for my cousin

It would be more suitable for the modern culture if you ask random people you don't know on the Internet to "support" your cousin, not to pray. Prayer means you are pushing religion onto others, and obviously people don't like that.

They're not being jerks. They're just reminding you that religion isn't the end-all. You know why they don't call the moment of silence "prayer time"? Because it singles out Christianity as the "one true faith".

This is the modern world. If you don't want to offend someone, be very careful about what you say even when you have the best intentions in mind.

Re: Please pray for my cousin

I was praying for the kid before I even read the thread.

                    How, you ask?

                    Because I am the kid.

And let me tell you, I'm pissed at all you ******s who read my thread and didn't pray. Yeah, even if you didn't post, I know you saw it and aren't praying. You prick.

If you don't copy this message and send it to at least 500 people in the next five minutes, I am going to haunt you so fucking hard I'm not even kidding. You know how normal people are like, "Well damn, looks like I'm being haunted, what a moderate inconvenience"? You'll be like "HOLY SHIT I AM BEING HAUNTED WHAT IS GOING ON AGADSGFASDF"

And I was counting down from the start of the message. You now have four minutes eleven seconds to send this to 500. Better haul ass, dicklegs.

All I was trying to get at, was that nobody asked you (not you Squeek but people in general) to click on the link to this thread. You saw that it was called "please pray for my cousin"... I just don't understand how "asking" people to please pray for my cousin is pushing your belief on them.
I'm don't mean to argue with you Squeek, but this is kind of silly.

And again, I apologize for throwing this thread off topic.

I am so sorry. I hope your cousin gets better soon. And I kinda know what you're going through because my dad was rushed to the E.R about 2 and a half hours ago. :/ He had a stroke.

I hope the little guy pulls through. Best wishes to him, you, and your family.
I most certainly agree this is a very sad and real situation but people still have their selfish motives and will always use a sense of humor no matter what the situation just for the sake of trying to be cool and comical. It's ridiculous how this generation acts, so many people these days think they're the "sh1t". Do me a favor of all the ones who tried to create a better image of themself by posting a joke in this thread. GTFO it's not your cousin and it wouldn't be funny as much if it was someone else joking about such a thing to your cousin.

I'm really sorry and I send some deep prayers and lots of hope for your cousin to make it out alright and perfectly healthy. If it was the way for him to leave this plane then so be it, either way I hope he makes it out fine one way or another.
