Yeah, she said that was the only yukata she would actually like, but she REALLY wants it and then she forgot about it, etc. I'm thinking of getting her a shamisen, they aren't that expensive. One with cat skin is like... 300$? I forget. Not bad at all since it has real cat skin.

DrugstoreCowboy, it was in a different thread.
That's cool Mario, but how come whenever you eat mushrooms, everything gets bigger but your dick?

I go for open-minded guys who have a great sense of humor =) I am also a sucker for sensitive and caring guys.

You really seem like a great guy and I know that change could be hard but it's great to see you try and you care to make someone happy. Be open about your feelings to her if you can and make sure you understand things that go through her life if they are good or bad but also give her space.

I bet you're going to be great =D

        Cat... skin....?

1000% no. I don't know if she's anything like me, but I would go into a fit of rage and break up with a guy who gave me something made of cats.

So that means it's okay for men to lead, but not for women?

Men are 'supposed' to be the leaders. It doesn't matter if it's true or not, but if a man is not built like a leader, it might make him feel less masculine.

I see what you were trying to say, but the problem is you're a blithering idiot and managed to sound like a misogynist fuck. Good work.

Re: I want to be something I am not.

I personally think that what works best is simply confidence in who you are as long as you're not a total douche at the wrong times. Like, for my girlfriend I'll pay for everything, open the door for her, and just do the basic courtesies. But, when we're just hanging out or talking online and not really doing anything, we can have the cruelest most disfunctional relationship you've ever seen if you're not in it. I make smart-ass remarks, I call her every insult in the book, and she does the same to me. And I'm not saying that's what you should do, but there's a balance and a time for everything, and once you find it you'll be much happier with yourself. And the time and place thing comes in with people in general as well.

I'm not really someone who's very polite, and I have my own reasons for that. But, if that's who you want to be, then I say kudos and good luck. However, just keep in mind, that there's a time and a place. Remember that girls like bad boys (as much as some may deny it) and they want someone who's a smartass sometimes. And with the whole security when walking with you through town thing...confidence man. A girl can smell confidence from a mile away. Good luck man! And despite what happens....EQ USED to own...Not anymore though =( (IMO)

Ill attempt to help with what he meant.

Many different things show that the man "is in charge". Not saying that a woman cannot be in charge, but just looking at history.

If you are religious, you can find this in the bible. "A man will be judged on his household". Basically, teach your wife and kids the right way to live according to god. If you're not religious, you probably dont care about that as much.

Past History; Men provided for their wives. They were unable to have jobs, thus resulting in the men being in charge of the home. The wives usually looked over the children which held a great deal of responsibilty, but nowhere as near the amount of responsibility of paying property tax (back in those days)

I understand that times are changing, but I think (but i dont want to put words in his mouth) what shox is trying to say is that A man feels that he should be able to protect his wife/girlfriend. We want to be bigger and stronger and better off financially to show that we can handle any problems. I could be wrong, but i think thats where he was going with that.

                    No problem

I guess I dont have to worry about this, because I stand at an average 5'11", weighing a little less than 200lbs, while my girlfriend is a nice 5'5" and 130lbs.

But my ex was 6'3". I was scared of her

Yeah, and my lady would rather me be the tall guy that looks confident and sharp instead of the small cute guy. I am the small cute guy. I used to be perfectly fine with that, it's a whole different lifestyle, but I think I should change that. I'd like to be the guy in charge. It's never about men being overpowering women. It's men overpowering other men. Being the better guy for her, more protective for her. And another thing I'd like to point out about being a mature, gallant gentleman is old fashioned. Old fashioned is the man that goes to work to come back to the housewife that has supper ready for him and the kids. It's just how it is.

heres my thing, if she really loves you for who you are, maybe even as a friend, she'll accept you no matter what, hey i mean your moving in with her.

                          my advidce:
do cute things for her, even if it is "just as friends"
maybe when you move in help make dinner, make desert, cookies, cake, brownies?
your a guy and your only 16, of course your immature, but maybe the best thing is to just tell her how you feel, admit you know your messy, and and immature.
maybe she like that you now notice that you act that way.
                          ask her to help you.
help her in any way possible.
talk to her, call her just to say hi; how is your day going.

plus were only human, we shouldn't epect much anyway.

                          good luck!

                              CHEW WITH YOUR MOUTH CLOSED!

But seriously, that gets really annoying when you eat with something that does that. You forget about the conversation and focus on ways to shut them up. v_v

Edit: I didn't read much of this post, beside the first post and this quote.

Give the girl attention. Make her feel special, and let her know you want her. If you are always trying to one-up the next guy, that will make the relationship awkward (The spelling of that word describes itself..). Relationships aren't competitions against other people, it's the feelings you have for each other. Just be sweet, but not creepy.

Just make sure you are using the proper protection, because then it can become VERY, VERY GOD DAMN UNECONOMICAL if she pops a baby 9 months down the road.
