The most effective way to do that would be a passive trace to find an IP. You can then use a simple whois command to get thier exact location. The bad news is that for every proxy and router they bounce thier signal through, you're either going to have to hack in or bully the owner into coughing up his logs so you can compare the bounce schedule to the time you need. Typically, you can use the guise of picture sharing or a file transfer as an excuse to directly connect, which circumvents all routers and allows you to get the remote host to spit out its IP that way.

There are also some (expensive), active trace programs out there which work somewhat akin to a phone trace, but those are easily detectable by anyone running the right software, or simply listening for pings. You can also foil that basic trace style by simply refusing all pings, so when the tracer tries to probe you, it gets a black hole. Many programs will try to send an HTTP packet (usually cookie format) if they probe a location that should be there, but apparantly isn't. However, to respond to a failed ping and run through the rest of the trace subroutine, anyone who was listening for pings will probably be long gone by then. I have a physical switch on my computer that will disconnect my internet if I flip it (I'm on broadband). This is the most common way of breaking a trace (it's the same dynamic as hanging up.)

If you want to add a few humorous statements that mildly relate to the topic, then I have no problem. If you want to go act stupid, go somewhere else. If you read any of the rest of this conversation, you would see that it has a serious nature. All you do is mess that up. If you want to act like a bastard, do it somewhere where people love that. Well this thread is a lot better than anything he started. If he was mature enough to understand it, then he would think this is a great thread with intelectual thoughts. If you say "No he wouldn't", then ovbously he isn't ever going to be mature enough to see it.

And about my proper tryping: get over it. I'm not the only one who does it. Just look back up this page and you will see that there are many people here that post using English instead of Leet. My writing is easier to read because I use the punctuation appropriate to my statements. If you actually understood what all the punctuation does, you wouldn't have to criticize my writing, because it is helpful then. It is a lot easier to read than "u r a n00b" or "wut up homie g dawg masta".
