The issue here is not whether its right or wrong to download music; i'm not going to get in a morals debate with all of you. The issue is that its friggin dumb for the record industries to attempt this ploy in the first place, when eventually it will not work! In the meantime they're gonna piss off alot of people, lose alot of money, and waste alot of peoples time. And the end result will be no different. They have to know when to cut their frigging losses, and deal with the inevitable!

Hahhahahaha. Yeah, sure. If recording companies weren't overstuffed gluttons, we'd be able to buy new release CDs at 5 bucks apiece and they'd still have a profit margin that's through the roof. A blank CD can cost as low as 10 cents apiece with volume purchase. Initial costs of the burning and logo stamping software might be high, but after that, it would cost, at most, 2 dollars to produce a full CD with jewel case. Even if you want to assume that shipping one CD would be 50 cents (which is extremely high), 5 dollars would be a 100% profit rate. Most businesses can only dream of margins like that.

Personally, when somebody's gonna try to rape my wallet for thier own gain, I'm not gonna sit around and take it like a cheap whore.
