Chardish, I have never seen nor plan upon seeing Azumanga Diaoh. I don't know why.

Nothing could possibly beat the Trigun Kitty. The cat from FLCL was cool, but had no lines and no name. He also didn't appear completely out of the blue and meow only to leave the screen in the next shot.

I didn't like Escaflowne as much as everybody else did, either. I loved Read or Die, so that's my favorite on your shelf there. I'd take pictures of my stuff but...that won't be too interesting. It'd be like, the CCS movie, the Kuroneko plush, and the Kuroneko keychain. Woot. Maybe I could photograph the spindles of burned anime my friend and I have accumulated. My computer's picture is somewhere on this site. Probably in the post a picture of your room thread.

Escaflowne was fun, but I thought it was kind of shallow and I was left slightly unfulfilled. It did, however, have sexcellent music. Of course, that's to be expected when Kenji Kawai does it.

My friend has this theory that Escaflowne was the anime that should have been an RPG and Xenogears was the RPG that should have been an anime.

Best Buy is by far the best place to go for anime if you want to get it at a local retail outlet. Just don't go there for Pioneer/Geneon stuff - for some reason they don't mark it down like they do with the rest of their anime

Funny you should ask, as I just ordered the LE first dvd+box last night.

/drool at the H&HC and SMJ boxsets. Is that SMJ Ultimate one of the limited collectors editions that was signed by the creator? I wanted one of those like nothing else, but had already purchased everything prior to its release.

I guess I should have figured you wouldn't like Bebop, a vast majority of your anime appears to be lighthearted comedy. Escaflowne is probably my favorite one on your shelf.

I actually prefer serious anime to comedy most of the time. My favorite series are probably Alien Nine and Figure 17, both of which don't have an ounce of humor in them. I just don't like Cowboy Bebop. Probably a combination of not liking the episodic nature of the series combined with not liking any of the characters.

The Azumanga cat (Kamineko, literally "biting cat") is so cool though. It looks all cute and cuddly and normal, then its head expands like a balloon and it bites you.

I don't even like Azumanga as much as I like most animes and I still love that cat.

Wow. I totally overlooked the Kare Kano Box Set. Very great series...though the ending is disappointing...but really, you cant expect too much from Gainax.

Very true, jewp, but I was kind of satisfied because I'm sure a sequel series or an OVA will come out. Apparently the manga that continues the series is really good, though I have yet to see it myself.

Yeah, I was considering buying the manga starting at book 9. I just wanted to see the damn Cultural Festival, that is all. I thought the rest was great though.

But I read that Anno Hideaki has no interest in continuing the series. Though, he may go all "Evangelion" style and release a movie with an alternate ending to the sereis in the near future. Though I have heard no word of the sort.

Ugh. I hate it when anime doesn't end. It's happened so many times in the past few series I've seen and it's just getting annoying. If you're going to open a can of worms, close the lid all the way before you call it quits.

For example: Haibane Renmei. Everybody I've talked to about this knows how much I hated the ending but LOVED the series. The storywriters somehow felt compelled to not explain anything. Ever.

Then there's Ai Yori Aoshi. I hated it anyway, but I wanted to see what would happen when the rest of the house found out about Aoi and Kaoru. Guess what? Nobody did. That was the whole underlying theme the whole time...keeping that secret. Instead of having someone figure it out (it was painfully obvious), they threw in some random "HOLY CRAP WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY YOU WERE GOING TO DO NOW?" thing at the last few episodes.

And Inuyasha. What a way to end a series. "We'll keep chasing after this guy!" Good work. If the MANGA keeps it going, the ANIME should keep it going. It's just stupid to drop the animated series midway through a good part.

The moral of the story is: Finish what you start.
