Animes always seem to end poorly, Tenjou Tenge being the most recent one I can think of, unless they're planning a season 2. Series was great, although it focused way too much on the characters pasts and not on the here-and-now, but holy crap did the ending suck. I'm not much of a manga person either so I miss out if they continue the manga after the series (Berserk being a prime example)...it costs too much. x_x

And yes, I think we all get the notion that avatar = person over time. Would be interesting to study that.

Funny thing is, I actually AM one of those kids who sits at his computer and masturbates to every new maddox post (figuratively speaking, of course). Oh, and for all the noobs, that was my old avatar. I am definitely not a warship or a stick figure.

For example: Haibane Renmei. Everybody I've talked to about this knows how much I hated the ending but LOVED the series. The storywriters somehow felt compelled to not explain anything. Ever.

I wouldnt say I hated the ending, I was just a feeling of "oh..that's all...okay." Though I didnt get into the series all that much. The art and music was awesome, but, like in Serial Experiments Lain (which I didnt even bother completing), there didnt seem to be much happening. The episodes felt long. The ending was dull, but the concept was great.
