No, it is not worth it. There are very few times when your system will even use 8GB of RAM, let along 32. More RAM doesn't increase speed beyond a certain point. If the program that you use only addresses a max of 8GB of RAM, then 8GB is all you need for optimal results. However, all 32 bit programs address a max of 4GB of ram, and all 64 bit programs usually address 4-6 GB, rarely 8 or higher. So, no. 32GB of RAM is just overkill. Plus, it would cost you a fortune.

I'm running Velo's engine, Flash 9, WinXP, 4gb of ram. Minimal lag, only minor lag spikes. Good deal.

Re: What os/build runs ffr without lag?

It seems as though FFR's engines are based off an older OS, so that when the newer and better OS' come out it clashes and everything goes to crap. I'd say this theory is pretty well held up by the fact that Pseudo Enigma's 90's school comps play it just fine, as well as XP.
Why can't we update whatever the issue is?

Re: What os/build runs ffr without lag?

                Prefx's famous ezpz lag-be-gone fixes

Step 1: Windows basic theme is the easiest way to go, but simply disabling aero as previously stated works just fine

Step 2: Get a flash standalone player, in my experience Standalone 8 works better than 9 but only 9 has easy to use readily available standalones these days. Flash standalone 9 in my experience is known to need offsets more commonly on random files and in the case of the Dragons Fury engine I consistently need a -5 offset.

Step 3: In game set quality down to the lowest, it may be ugly, but have you ever seen Pong?

Step 4: OPTIONAL to solve hardware and software suspiscions simply get a program like gamebooster,

I run 2 servers at the same time. one for minecraft and one for killing floor. And yes 32 is an overkill.

You're dumb for having so much ram because speed >>> size of ram

it's self explainable, but there's a hole in this theory. My 1.2GHz 512MB RAM computer with like 16MB Video on WinXP w/standalone doesn't run it anywhere as well as the computers at my school. I'm sure the ones at the school are worse, too. lol

edit: oh man look at me bragging about how shit my computer is.

Theirs and mine both run on XP of the same Service Pack, and they both are set to the Windows Classic Theme.
