I really would like to believe that Sonic Heroes never happened. It just like..took the ending of SA2 and like..flipped it upside down. I loved how in SA2 both sides teamed up in the end to defeat a common enemy, but in SH Eggman just went back to being evil. Also the gameplay sucked.

On topic: Ive only played SA1 a few times but if i had to choose id go with SA2. SA2 had a slightly better story in my opinion and as already mentioned, the music in SA2 is better.

Ive played through all of SA or more accurately ive WATCHED through all of SA. I kiiiiinda wanted to play through it myself but i didnt feel like digging through the bargan bin containers for a 5-10 dollar copy of SA =/

You've really watched through all of SA and you think SA2 has better storyline? I simply MUST object. I can't even see your point of view where you might think that. I was sincerely touched by the way E-102's story and Amy's story were connected. Touched. It takes one awesome story to have it touch me.

Ok you got me there.

I didnt see all of the cinema because the guy who was playing had played through the game at least 678 times and he skipped through it all. So ignore what i said about the story, but i still like SA2 better.

I've played the demo of SA and SA2, which I borrowed from my friend two years ago. The only thing I remember from SA was that the intro movie/song kicked ass.

Ok, SA2 has a waaaay better storyline. yes, they did look funny when they talked and sometimes they would almost speak over eachother (when you fight Rouge/Knuckles they talk fast =) ) but still, It helped me realize that the "eggman" we faced wasn't the original Dr. Robotnic from the first few sonics. It is also kool to see how Long rivals can just team up in an instant bcuz the entire world is at risk. I loved this story and the gameplay was a little annoying but good. also, the music rocked

Never played SA, but SA2 was damn fine. Although, really, i wasn't impressed by SA2's story. At all. The little twist at the end was welcome, but the story through the rest of the game was mediocre at best, and i found the dialogue incredibly corny. Rouge and Shadow were definitely the most colorful characters in the game, and entirely new characters at that, a nice contrast to everyone else's uniform roles.

ie.
Sonic - I am the hero, watch me save the day
Tails - I am the hero's best buddy, i preform mediocre stunts but save all the big action for the hero
Amy - omg sonic i'm in trouble
Eggman - Who needs a reason to blow up the earth? I'm EVIL!!!

Gameplay, on the other hand, was awesome, fast paced and lots of fun. Chao garden was fun to toy around with too. The only beef i have is that some of the emblems were near impossible to get (ie. AAAAA Crazy Gadget/Cannon Core, and some of the chao ones were incredibly and pointlessly time consuming). I racked up 177 emblems and then walked away defeated after hours of frustration.

Music, yes was awesome. I want an extended version of the City Escape song.

Now, get some Dreamcast fanboy to back up Omega, as i really can't say anything about SA.

I guarantee you the music was just as good in SA. It didn't have cool things like Meteor Herd or Ark Battle or Biolizard Boss Theme, but it rocked hard and the music on most of the levels (epecially the first level and Final Egg) had a very nasty habit of getting stuck in your head (but in a good way).

I especially like Icecap Snowboarding from Sonic Adventure. Great song.

I wonder why. Mayhaps that was the only level I could play on the demo version in Best Buy when Dreamcast first released it ... a long time ago.

The music in SA2 is better than in SA1, by far. SA1 has some great tracks, but the rest is lousy. SA2 is pretty much good the whole way through.

wtf Pumpkin Hill was one of the worst songs. Meteor Herd was great because although it was all you heard on loop for a long time, it was at least a cool song. Pumpkin Hill was a bad song to begin with, and it made not being able to find the missing emeralds very stressful because that meant having to listen to a bad song for a long time on loop.

LOL pumble's right. Zarbon too, was right when he said the diolouge was a little silly.

Yeah it was really hard to get all the A ranks on all the levels, the most emblems i ever got was around 140-something.

As for the music, i also agree, City Escape and SA2 main theme were awesome, in fact i think ill go see if i can limewire me up some mp3's of them. The hip hop songs on the Knuckles levels were cool too, I strongly dislike hip hop in most cases.

EDIT: Also, 'The FinalHazard' is just the coolest name for a boss ever in my opinion.

I played SA but i don't have a dreamcast and can't play it whenever i want.
But from what i remember it was a better game than SA2. I liked what i got
from SA2 but i really have to play SA to have a more complete opinion.
