Re: TWG CXXXVII - Crisis in Kitchen Stadium! Bobby Flay's Revenge - GAME THREAD

Sorry, I'm going to be self-metaing a lot in this post. The reason I think I'd make a partner for roundbox is that I really hate bussing wolf partners. I don't think people understand how seriously I abide by that. I've only voted for a wolf partner once, ever, and that was because he counterclaimed a role he shouldn't have. I've been aware of this meta for the last few wolf games and have been trying to correct it, but I haven't really been able to.

Avoiding voting for partners can manifest itself in one of four ways if people suspect my partner. Sometimes, I get really overconfident about the lynches I support. That's clearly not what's going on here. Sometimes I defend my partner, but that's usually only if I think the lynch on them is bad. Sometimes I wildly shuffle around my suspicion list so I don't have to vote for my wolf partner. And sometimes I just read my partner as null and ignore him. I feel like either of the last two fit how I've been behaving with regards to roundbox.

How this applies to Mashi is that he and I have played a lot of games together. I've been a wolf in a decent amount of those games. I'd expect him to have made that connection, so I was curious as to whether he'd made it or not. If he didn't suspect me at all, it probably wouldn't affect his voting much.

It's probably not significant, especially since Mashi placed his vote on roundbox for a lot of last phase. Mashi doesn't seem like the type of wolf to bus a partner but I haven't seen Mashi as a wolf in many (any?) cardflip games because he's rolled wolf less than I have. I don't know if he'd bus his partner in this setting.

mashi would probably not bus his partner in this setting unless they really deserved it.

I used to be similar to you nighty, in that I would never vote for my partners and would rarely scumread them. I played two games of video mafia where I was red-checked in one and confirmed different checked in another and the town was able to solve the game from my reads alone taking into account the fact that I never bussed. (Cardflipping is always off in video-mafia games) You've seriously never had something like this happen to you?

To be honest, Nighty, although I knew certainly that we generally don't bus our Partners on LLF much, I never knew you had an actual aversion to it! I'll be sure to note that for the future though, hehe.

Regardless, I think you expecting me to suspect you and roundbox as Partners would be most reasonable if you were actually Partners, which from your perspective shouldn't be possible! You and roundbox had a short discussion regarding roundbox voting you and finding your vote on Kawamii as being odd, for example. And as I've mentioned, you've not done anything that's caught my eye as suspicious thus far, aside from my finding your early reads as being justified oddly.

Also, yeah, I would distance, but I'm generally not the type to bus my own Partner. The only time I remember using bussing as a strategy was when I told Funnygurl to do so against me in our C18++ game, I think, which we only did because she had to carry the game when I died.

Finally got to some place where I can easily link posts, so I'll do that now. I'm talking about posts like this one where he asks Zenith to lighten up on C&R, this one where he assures me that I wasn't that mean to kami, this one where he tries to get choof not to quit, and this one where he tries to get kawamii not to quit.

The reason I'm asking is because I've been in a similar-ish situation as a wolf when a human claimed to have broken his pinky out of frustration with the game. I remember feeling guilty about my role in upsetting him, and saying similar encouraging things to him. That experience is coloring my opinion of Sunfan somewhat. I feel a little bit weird bringing up this point because I feel like the things Sunfan's been saying should be encouraged and that by suspecting him for saying them I might be discouraging them. If he has a history of saying things like that to players it's a lot less suspicious.

In looking at my history of that, I saw the other game where things got ugly. I was a wolf in that game as well, but I stayed out of that situation since I didn't want to tie myself to my partners, who were probably going down had that game been played to completion. The reason I'm bringing this up is that one of the wolves sounded pretty similar to Kawamii when quitting.

Nope. LLF is pretty easy to win as a wolf because the town has a really strong aversion to lynching players who are around at the end of day.

I've also had pretty solid luck with being the master wolf.
