yes sir.
So you're asking us to trust you in thinking you would be a better wolf than what we're seeing now, and yet you offer the idea that you're playing poorly as a townie?Comment

Re: TWG XCVIII: A bunch of people in a room playing mafia
There is an art to the mindset I cultivate. I am aggressive when there is a lot of noise but no signal, and I do it to both spur activity and apply targeted pressure. I started out in this mindset, but then I found signal.
It's hard for me to keep applying pressure elsewhere because I genuinely think TPS is mafia. To recap
1. He got upset when I asked for clarification on his reads when he was using strong language
2. Started an overly defensive string of posts because of this
3. As I clarified my point further, made a character attack on me to diminish my credibility
4. Said all of this came from a conscious decision to try a new meta
5. Doubled down on his read of YMIA without ever really clarifying his "screaming gut" instinct on it
6. Abruptly changed his tone
I can't really continue to attack him until it becomes phase critical, because he apologized for his behavior which potentially makes him a sympathetic character. And I can't attack elsewhere because the YMIA versus TPS lynch seems like it is becoming Boolean.
Honestly, I was hoping for you to contribute to the situation more to create some sort of wall to hear my own echo. I feel my read is good and I wanted to see how you viewed it.

Re: TWG XCVIII: A bunch of people in a room playing mafia
one of the biggest reasons I'm keeping my vote on Tps:
"Thinly veiled threat" is a huge stretch. Wolves have no incentive to make hidden threats in thread. I don't think a town Tps would be nitpicking as shown in this post.I can't tell if you're agreeing with my initial premise in a genuine manner, or if that is a thinly veiled threat at the end of an appeasement post.I nitpicked at Manti specifically because he has a known habit of UTR playing, while the rest of the players that had similar post counts... really didn't. Now even with that I still could have just called out anyone else, but it's the knowledge he's one of the smartest UTR players out there, and (I don't quite remember who said it), I agree with the statement made that people should be out of their element. Getting comfy in a game like this is a bad plan.
Furthermore, we see Tps "thinking out loud" here. That ought to indicate more of a "just prodding around" state of mind. Two hours and basically zero posts later, Tps gives us his confidence level for his YMIA wolf read:
I don't buy that, sorry. Seems like 1) an unwarranted jump in sureness, and 2) way too high for any Day 1 read.Comment

Re: TWG XCVIII: A bunch of people in a room playing mafia
I could have just said "i'm randoming on YMIA" and avoided all this trouble apparently. Are you unfamiliar with the connotation behind "going with your gut"? It's not a logical reason based feeling. It just is. I voted on it. I couldn't explain it, and you all railroaded me with a ridiculous level of confirmation bias.
You will be wasting day 1 if you lynch me. I guarantee it.Comment

Re: TWG XCVIII: A bunch of people in a room playing mafia
I feel like this is a flashback to the moment where tps and I bickered last game @_@ I swear if I was on a comp right now I could give a longer post than this but honestly I doubt that ymia is mafia at this point. Oh well, we'll have to wait until the replacement comes in and showcase his behaviour.
Anyhow, tps immediately claiming vt is a bit odd...I mean thats just from my viewpoint...bananas

When I was a wolf in the last C9++, my biggest complaint was that I couldn't communicate with my fellow wolves before the game started.
Hell, I didn't talk to my fellow wolves until 6 real life days had passed.
What I'm trying to say is, the wolves are not going to be operating under some cohesive plan of action right now. Each of them is on a solo island and are trying to secretly establish a base mindset within this thread to operate by.
This is something we should all be aware of and look for in people's actions.Comment

"not going to be operating under some cohesive plan of action"
is not equivalent to
"will make vaguely threatening statements toward all other players in some weird attempt to intimidate rather than hide"Comment

in response to subbing, jrodd asked first, so he's out, tag in fiction.
yoman if you really need a replacement i can get looking for one for you, just let me know in thread or VIA PM. the sooner the better.

ok, quick glance at the voting pattern..
yoman / TPS vote revenge vote situation, not much help.
TPS has great judgment. who is xiz?
V and Dance generally know what they're doing so they're on TPS, V is normally wrong though and he's very persuasive.
The most interesting thing is evan voting second on what seems to be a safety vote. Then more safeties.Originally posted by j-rodd123wowComment
