Re: TWG XCVIII: A bunch of people in a room playing mafia
I wanna change my vote from Xiz because I see no reason to vote Xiz. let's see
Tps
Based on a very small sample size, but I'm getting the vibe.

yeah good idea. manti is a hard carry and we have to make him vocal in the beginning to have anything to catch him on in the end, or he'll just snowball to victory.
oh by the way i'm a vanilla townie. I don't ever usually announce my role so you can take this first time as truth.
Super early vote on Manti. Tps was the first to push this idea. "He'll just snowball to victory" sounds unusually certain, which I read as an attempt to ingrain an idea into others' minds. The second paragraph is filler and means nothing in any direction.

Wow, that's a piggyback post if I've ever seen one, Manti already has posted since I placed the initial call-out vote. You know Manti lurks and gathers intel, defines frameworks of play, and calls people out who deviate from it. I made my vote purely to get some day 1 information from him, just in case we need to go back and analyze it in the future.
A wolf should be attempting to present valid human strategies, agree with the general flow of posts, and cast a vote on someone he knows needs to be lynched. YMIA is checking off each of those. Also, my gut is just screaming wolf to me and I'm going to start trusting my intuition more. Yoman.
That shift in direction was really sudden. Townies can set traps and then lay the hammer, so that's not suspicious in and of itself, but Tps specifically tried to justify his switch from Manti by saying that "Manti has already posted."
The logic doesn't hold water, either. YMIA is exactly right. After the initial Tps vote, Manti made a couple of posts. Neither of those posts were substantial in terms of evaluating what's happened thus far. It's fine to switch votes upon finding a more deserving candidate, but the soft-defense of Manti seems off.
Last sentence in that quote: "Also, my gut is just screaming wolf to me and I'm going to start trusting my intuition more." That would make sense following a rough game as a townie. Tps is coming off of a successful game as a wolf. Why include that sentence? I'm calling BS.

It was really just a thought based on how many newer players we have in the game who are trying to figure things out. YoshL's input will weigh heavier comparitively to everyone else's, because his input is coming from a known human perspective. None of us have to worry about tampered information coming from him.
Yes his info can still be wrong, but it won't be wrong intentionally. I expect many of the newer players will be emboldened by this and may follow Yoshl too closely, giving us multiple YoshL's with different names.
When your role is confirmed, the last thing you want to do is to be the first to give input. You taint other opinions and allow wolves to alter theirs to match.

Perhaps i should have been more direct? YoshL, your playstyle should alter to a more: Read-Review-Judge style. Let other people weigh in before you do, because the second you weigh in, expect people to follow.

Manti, I apologize for insulting you. Let the record show that I am a prickass douche, and not only that, but that I am a terrible player.
Re: TWG XCVIII: A bunch of people in a room playing mafia
no really a screaming gut should have more to say that's a pretty complex reaction to YMIA must take a lot of contingent thoughts and feelings
Read that out loud and tell me if you even understand what you're saying.
I've provided just as much reasoning for my vote as anyone has on day 1. You've just gone on hostile and voted vicc out of sheer disgust. Who's vote is looking more like shit now?

So you feel that we should let others define the standards by which we play?
What I got out of you was the words "screaming gut" and as a player who tends to hone in on behavioral analysis quite a bit in the early game I read that and I go "that is a pretty strong reaction for this early!
And look at you! You're defending your strong reaction this early by saying "it's early game I shouldn't have to defend myself beyond the levels others are."
And look at this aggression towards me? You know why I'm voting viccica? Because I don't want deadweight in this game. I feel like she was a contributing factor to my loss last game. I feel like she was a contributing factor to my loss in the previous C9++. I play to win, and sometimes playing to win is shitting on bad players and acting like their manager in the early game.
Re: TWG XCVIII: A bunch of people in a room playing mafia
so i went and reviewed previous games to get evidence to drive the point home about viccica's lazy play but it was actually the first C9++ that she did poorly in, and in the second she did alright, so really i'm just bitter about how poorly she did last game.
Re: TWG XCVIII: A bunch of people in a room playing mafia
I define a "strong gut reaction" as an intrinsic and intangible feeling that arises when I read a post and just feel something from it.
It's not good reasoning at all, i'm already fully aware of that. I'm also clear-headed about this.
My vote on Manti was literally only staying as long as it took him to post -anything-. What he said didn't matter as much as forcing him to be out of his element and make an appearance/provide insight into his mindset in a situation where he normally wouldn't. I was appeased and moved on.
I'm perfectly content with leaving my vote on YMIA for as long as it takes for me to find someone else more suspicious, with actual reasoning.

Read: the words were something I said to affect an emotion I didn't actually have. Even when I feel mildly shitty after leaving the grocery store I am able to tease out through a barebones analysis that it was like the way the asian dude behind the counter looked at me, and then I can ask myself questions about it. All it really takes is mulling it over for a little bit.
TPS is probably mafia in this game. He has been a wolf pretty frequently in the short past. He was a wolf in the previous C9++ and he was a wolf last game, which would make this his 3rd game as a wolf in a short span of time.
First off, his behavior has been really weird, and for no overt reason. Why the sudden need to announce you are a vanilla townie? Where does a thought like that come from?
And I see this immediate overly defensive nature to his posting.
Those things say to me that currently TPS has let his mental guard down, probably from playing as a wolf multiple times in short succession, and winning the last game. His overconfidence in his abilities is letting his superego flow out freely, and that super-ego does apeish things like get over-defensive at a simple request for a greater clarification in the early game.
He might as well have just posted *caveman grunts*. It's pretty thin and easy to see through.

Yeah, great logic there.

Oh no, no one has ever claimed town at the beginning of the game before. What a groundbreaking move by me!
And I see this immediate overly defensive nature to his posting.

lol you wish. You've never been able to read me and you never will. That only strengthens this belief.
Honestly, I hope you're a wolf this game, because elsewise we're just engaging in an ego-fueled circle jerk that the wolves are just laughing at right now. You're the one who should take a step back and remember the fact that you cost your team the win last game. Not vicc, who you are easy to blame. Your piss-poor vote on Vicc "confident" is a shining example of hypocrisy, and that was on day 4, and you're getting mad at me for baseless day 1 votes haha.
In summary, believe me if you want to win, believe V if you want to lose.

WOW. If that bolded sentence wasn't wolfy I don't know what is.
And right after it you're trying to guilt trip the fuck out of him. Trying to convince V he's wrong by saying he was wrong last time, at least in the way you just worded it, was a terrible move there, Tps.
Tps.
