    Re: The jTWG Show-your-interest thread

That's what throwing me off in this new game.
Though I'm not too sure about common aux role ratios, I suggest that the jTWG be played with a minimum amount of rediculous roles and just stick to basic, common ones, like Seer, Gaurdian, etc.

And if this is standard for jTWG, I apologize. :]

I don't think it is. But I really don't want special roles for the first couple of games. (or is it only one game we're getting around?)

Either way, if we organize more than one, count me in for the second too!

Yeah, it'd be nice to play with new people a couple times before trying to play with vets.

I find myself afraid to ask questions because people are so mean about everything.
        Like lockdown.
I guess my game is facing it and I don't know what it is. :]
        cool.

        Off topic.
Either way, yeah, I think jTWG should be held as often as enough new people are interested. I think even the vets would agree that they'd rather have new player more experienced before trying to play in a real game for fear of making a big mistake just because they didn't know certain things about TWG.

jTWG, a place to make mistakes. :]

Since we want jtwg to teach people to be good players, I feel that only people who have hosted a TWG should be allowed to host a jTWG.

Yeah. There are several reasons why it's a good idea.

            Let's name them all!

But really. I will go out myself and recruit people just to have games going. >_>

Oh wow and that's true too, btw. I don't want anyone making mistakes and changing the rules all the time because the game is unbalanced or something.

The above statement is ridiculously true. I'm so glad it was said.

The purpose of jTWG isn't to teach people how to play. It's to give people experience. It's hard to **** up hosting, unless you're observer.

Isn't learning how to play the same thing as getting experience? And there's a lot more to hosting than you think. Observer wasn't great, but he definitely didn't do as badly as we made him out to. One way or another, it would probably be a better idea for you to play this one than to host it.

a mini-jtwg is always an option as well. Something along the lines of 8-10 players with 1-2 wolves.

Would you rather have me **** up the big TWG game and have all the vets pissed at me or **** up a jTWG game?

There's no reason why I should get my first hosting under my belt as a jTWG instead of a TWG.

                                Re: The jTWG Show-your-interest thread

                                1) If you are qualified to host a TWG then you can host a jTWG. (jtwgs are usually less complicated)

                                2) If someone wants to shadow with me I would love it because I love to hear myself talk lol.

                                3) Before jtwg stopped, it was mostly the same 16: 3W, 1seer, 1guardian, 1psychic for a long time. Boring yes but after 2 or so games (and at least being active and/or non human) you moved up.

                                4) If you host a jtwg, you can still play in a twg.

                                5) One of the reasons jtwg was destroyed was lack of players. Another reason was because jtwg and twg strategy differed by so much that it didn't matter how good you were in jtwg, once you moved up, you had to adapt to a new strategy mindset. jtwg is good for mechanics but I doubt it will help you with learning the paradigm strategies and do's and don'ts of TWG.

However, I'm all for setting it back up if games were no more than 10-12 players. TWG signups used to be small windows and jtwg allowed not as dedicated players to play with the hope of getting into the next big game XD.

Hope that gives you more insight into jtwg "philosophy."

EDIT: oh and what is with your sig mamimi?
