yeah JK9++ looks cool too; I just figured I'd go with the most familiar option as an alternative to the spicier offerings from other hosts.

This C9++ isn't my ideal, but I'd rather it than some weird blue-fest or something with unique mechanics.

Also, can we do player signups like we used to before? Announce signups to be opened at a certain time during the next day or so, rather than opening them immediately whenever the new host happens to decide to post the topic up? This apparently ALWAYS results in me missing the thread going up, and can result in me-- or other worthy persons who would be active and remain interested-- missing the signups altogether. If we announce a time in advance, you can have more faith that truly interested players will sign up, because those will be the ones who will take time out of their day to plan to get online at exactly that time.

This was de rigueur at one point, another advantage being that splitting the sign up times got people from different time zones to be able to sign up. Not sure why it stopped.

I like the "player signups will start at x time" idea too.

no communication other than posts in the game thread is allowed during a day phase for anyone. during a night phase, wolves (and masons if they exist) can communicate internally however they please.

reread Xiz's setup. it's not a bluefest. it's a pretty standard game. the only twists are the anonymous factor and the guess-kill mechanic.

i dont think you should limit the guess-kill mechanic. one missed guess and you die. if someone wants to ride out the roller coaster, let them try it.

I'm pretty sure that would break the setup's balance. I'll try to think it through though.

if enough people want to play an out-of-thread-allowed game, then someone should make a balanced setup from scratch (or use a tried-and-true one).

Hmm... I did no out-of-thread to keep the activity going, however I might okay with settling for allowing out-of-thread for nights only? Personally I'm against it, but what is everyone's thoughts on this?

I'm not a veteran in this forum, but when it comes to out of thread, I just find those really boring when spectating (either from dying or just a curious spectator).

Not nagging on it because I do agree out of thread is more fun to play through. There's way more elements that go into play that makes player to player interaction deeper than if it was thread only. Just for a player that gets killed and or forum user spectates, they're missing context and the dirty details that I think make the game interesting to watch, haha.
