Actually scratch that, I'm not going to be fully available knowing I've got some more important business to take care beforehand. Won't collaborate in a game I know I can't have 100% awareness of what's going on.
Sorry.
Basically, you are given the role of various positions such as the innocent villagers who vote for the most suspicious person who people believe to be a wolf and that person is killed by night, a bodyguard (or variances of them) who chooses one person everyday who cannot be killed (and none of the other players knows who is being protected), the human accomplice who sides with the werewolf in trying to kill the entire village, and various other roles. Depending on the version you play, the villagers go by another name, but the main goal in the game for the villagers is to have at least one villager remaining when the werewolf and all of his or her accomplices are killed, and the goal for the werewolf side is to be the majority of the entire village, right? Also, certain roles converse with other during the nighttime, but in general, you are not allowed to talk with other team members unless your job allows you to.

Yeah, that's mostly correct. In this instance of the game, we start on day 1. That day will last either 6 IRL days, or end upon insta-lynch (when someone is voted by half the remaining players + 1).
Then the day ends, that person is lynched, and we go into night phase. You're right about no one being able to talk unless your role allows it. Night phase is typically when all the power roles send in their choices. The wolves use the night phase to make a "wolf" selection, killing any one player left alive. The humans usually have a few power roles to attempt to combat the wolves killing ability at night (IE: Guardians, Seers etc).
Once the 24 or 48 hours are up (whatever fojar decides a night lasts), the submitted actions are executed and the next day begins, with whatever players killed/info received resulting from the nights action. Then the day phase proceeds and we attempt to vote to lynch a wolf again.
I don't mean to be patronizing you if you're already aware of the basic rules of TWG, I just want to establish a baseline to make sure everyone is on the same page.
Tps, you too wordy dawg. I don't know how to read.
In a basic game, there are two teams: Townsfolk Wolves
Day phase = all players vote to lynch one player
Night phase = wolves kill one player
Phase progression in a typical game: Night 1 -> Day 1 -> Night 2 -> Day 2 -> Night 3 [...] until game ends
Each Day phase lasts either a set amount of real-life time or until instalynch.
Each Night phase lasts a set amount of real-life time.
Instalynch occurs when over 50% of remaining players vote for a certain player.
Town wins when all wolves are eliminated. Wolves win when they equal the number of remaining Townsfolk after a lynch, unless there are extenuating circumstances.
(Ask the host for clarification if necessary.)
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong on any of that.
There are a million other possible details, but one's understanding should be built from the ground up with full clarity.
