Re: FFR Community Pack III (Submissions Open)

All right, here is my retaliation in regards to my file critique, because I was expecting a paragraph of flaming rather than two sentences without much of an explanation. (I'm probably gonna be flamed for this xD)

        npv:

First of all, I was the one to send the purple file. If anyone actually looked at the email address, they would've known that because it says "alloyus@gmail.com." It has been publicly released, but if it means by me then that file ended up being corrupted and losing notes, anyway. If it means on FFR or anything else in general, there was nothing about that in the qualifications on the opening post.

        2. It is stated that there is no CD title. I have already mentioned that I forgot to mention the graphics situation in the message that I sent with the simfile attached to it. I have already posted it in this forum (#43). And, again, nothing was posted in the qualifications about having a CD title.

        Puppet:

About song choice- I felt reassured that my song choice would be fine from my conversation with gnr in this forum. He said to pick something you like, meaning to me that it wouldn't almost entirely affect the judging.

About technical errors- It is an extreme possibility that the file I sent is also missing notes, like the one that I have in the simfile database. I would be happy to attempt to find a solution, but I don't know much about the actual file content of "clean" files. I would greatly appreciate it if one of you guys would help me solve this problem.

In general: If the file that I sent is missing notes, I would be glad to take video footage of the file for reference to you guys. I know that you would have no obligation to allow this, nor that it would be incredibly accurate for synching, but I would appreciate it if I could have a second chance in submitting my file.

On a side note: If anyone has encountered the same problem that I have with their file missing notes, please send me a private message if you know how to fix it. I actually think I did a decent job on this file, and even if it doesn't get submitted into this pack I would like to be able to re-submit it to the database if the file error problem gets fixed.

Thanks to anyone who actually read this post all the way through and heard me out .

        ^FFP_D0pey btw

i don't know everybody, so i can't assume it's you just because it says alloyus@gmail.com. people can have completely different e-mail addresses.
in addition, cdtitle requirements are generally implied.

puppet is gnr, just so you know. "something you like" is pretty broad, and i guess he implied the fact that it should be something that makes a decent stepfile too. song choice is a hugeeee factor in judging and stuff; i listened to the song and i would've rejected it solely on the song no matter how good the file was (probably). if you have missing notes...fix it yourself. we have enough to judge. and of course, you can send a file as many times as you want; just don't be obnoxious with it.

Actually, I probably should've thought about the email thing, I'll give you that xD And I never mentioned this, but what is a cd title? I know it sounds incredibly noobish, but if I submit again I want to make sure that I do it right. Also, I'm very likely going to post a video of the file (Probably tomorrow) because in my Stepmania it works fine, the zip itself is missing notes, none are missing in my own Stepmania.

Edit: Thanks for telling me that puppet is gnr xD

when you're playing stepmania, and on the song selection screen, sometimes you'll see this thing that flips back and forth on the banner with the stepartist's name or whatever (better stepartists would usually have higher quality cd titles, of course). if there is no cdtitle, it says stepmania by default.

also, there isn't much of a point to posting the video...what's the purpose of it? it doesn't change our judgment or anything

as for unique files, they don't have to be revolutionary or anything; just not the exact same thing as scores of other files from smg and before. if you still play duk's delirium for fun you're probably not going to get a file in the pack is all..

                  Oh, thanks

It's honestly more of an ego boost for me, to be completely honest so it shows that I'm not just full of crap about having missing notes xD I'm not sure if I'm gonna do it anymore, though, because the more I think about it the stupider it sounds. I was already thinking about creating my own song. I'm not sure if I'm going to do it yet, but if I do then I'll probably submit a file of that.

Nothing of mine works... Nah puppet... its the wrong file.... It keeps registering my new files into my past files... and apparently no one knows the answer.

Will have to manual transfer the file.

If you judge the other files, please play Edit on mine.

The file I swnt is one I really want to get in - it probably has some errors since I didn't look at it super closely, should it get rejected then I'd like to know what I can do to get it in.

Also, I didn't go for 100% PR, so note that (otherwise the file would get really repetitive at some parts).
