How about addressing some issues the sim has? Sounds like you may be bias and are projecting your preference as the only "correct" way to step something.

Eh, well if you insist, dude. A lot of the notes are just multiples of a much more detailed pattern. Obviously I couldn't follow that cuz it'd cause huge diffuculty inconsistency issues. Lots of other problems the song posed as well. I'll play one of your files though to assess your credability.

Your file... Was a dump. Usually, if a file is called a dump, it's about as appealing as a large pile of ****.

So first off, what's the deal with the mulitple difficulties that are the exact same? The groove radars don't hint at what makes the files harder. I went into the editor, and every difficulty varied by maybe 100 steps each. Why? I couldn't find anything different.


I'm judged edit, since it's probably a tad bit harder. First off, why isn't the first note a jump? You should've emphasized the beginning of the song by at least a jump (A triple like this "00_0" would have been the best). The 32nd trills don't make sense. They don't fit the music at all. And I love how you missed the very first note as a jump, but there's a quick jump-jack at m4. M9 through m25 don't make sense at all. You should've follwed the guitar and layered in the drums. You missed a jump at the beginning of m28. M32 is completely inaccurate. The yellow-cyan part should be 24ths. And even if the 32nds were accurate, you wouldn't make them trills. M33 to M45 are so ****ing boring it's unbelievable. Layer in procussion. M45 to M48 are completely innaccurate. Pitch relevancy is key. M50 to M58 are excruciatingly boring. M58 was pretty much the icing on the cake. Not only did you create left handed jack hammers that don't go to anything, you kept them for EVERY DIFFICULTY.

This is a file that I should never had downloaded, and it will no longer be taking up space on my precious 8 gig flash drive. Goodbye. You pretty much shown me that you're not worth calling out.

It's because of people liek you that wreck little noobs so they'll quit before they have a chance to better themselves.

My advice: Stay with easy songs until you can move on to harder ****.

In this case you should choose easier $hit than DF, simply because your not at that level yet.

anyway IMO you shouldn't want to be an elitist KB stepper....I mean it's supposed to be a 4 panal dance game.A DANCE GAME. play beatmania, Pop'n, or TDM or sumthing challenging to your fingers/arms.

If you look at all the simfile packs from KBMP to ODI 2 you'll see some evolution in they way most people step.You see people begin to slip away from chaotic steps into the Pitch Relevancy phase where everyone does the same type of file nowadays....>_> therefore you see the same **** over and over again.

PR is a rather Popular technique that is in my opinion stupid for a 4 panel beat game especially when its taken sooo seriously.PR does make a song fun sometimes, but with the limitations of 4 panels it becomes harder to find good songs to step PR wise ,and most files end up looking the same...Seriously there are only so many patterns you can make with 4 panel, witch is why I don't really play/step 4 panel SM anymore its very repetitive and boring.(for me.)

In the end, if you are just doing this for your own sheer pleasure then please just step what you want to step...

But, If you are not doing this only for yourself, and you actually want to serve an audience then there are specific rules you must follow to make an enjoyable 4 panel file (in the elitist's eyes.) Bend to the general conception of what a good 4 panel KB chart is in the public's eyes.

You just gonna become a clone in the end.Well, at least to me.

Holy ****. If you have constructive criticism, such as specific places where he could improve things, then post saying so. If you think the file is a peace of ****, then delete the file and don't play it.
Dragonforce will not make a good file. However, there are obviously people that find files fun in some way. Let them play the file, and move on with your lives. When you get to the point where you have to blatantly make fun of people's files, you really need to stop playing fuking stepmania and go outside once and awhile. It is a game.

I second this notion with the added thing that if you are going to give constructive criticism, then don't be a total douche about it. That discourages new steppers. If this is done, when all of the old farts stepping stuff now get tired of stepmania, there will be no one left to make semi decent simfiles.

my advice: step something different that's worthy of stepping. Something original that isn't dragonforce because no matter how hard you try, your df sims will always be generic 16th streams and 8th jumps. If you want to be known as a good simfile author, you need to step other stuff. As of now your only audience are the bunch of dragonforce jerkcircling noobs who dl your file just cuz it's df and they'll obviously like it cuz 16ths streams right.

rofl Kommi I just visited Stepmania.com and there is this one kid who posted a video of himself passing through the fire and flames on PSP revolution and calling it ONE OF THE HARDEST SONGS ON PSP REVOLUTION/SM.

Ah! Who revived this thread? That was very uncool. Please let it die. A lot of these files I have revised since I made this thread but I understand that their potential is limitted. Often times you're faced with either creating boring accurate steps or more interesting inaccurate steps. And regarding the CFE review: it was a VERY bad song choice. I still question the accuracy of some of what's-his-face's criticism though. I mean damn, it wasn't that bad =P. Completely disregarding this incident you really just gotta stop coming across so cocky.
