If you actually want my opinion, I also still hold the old school mentality towards these things. That era is still represented in my most recent simfiles and will probably never change.

But for banner size, even bg and shit for simfile graphics, we can go bigger. There is no harm and it does look a bit better than the old 256x80. We used that size because back in the old days stepmania ran at 640x480 by default and the banners in the game would have actually been 256x80 based on the 480p game. Now we have much higher resolutions and most of us play at those higher resolutions. Stepmania does a good job with image scaling and makes it not look too bad going from 256x80 banners and 640x480 backgrounds to 1280x1024 or so, but higher quality graphics are what the world desires now. We want things more crisp looking.

512x160 is acceptable I say. And if I was to decide the exact sizes we should use for backgrounds and banners, it would be 1280x1024 backgrounds and 512x160 banners. Stepmania 5 runs at 16:9 ratio so even 1280x720 backgrounds I'd feel would be acceptable.

For anyone who does banners for the pack itself, instead of using the number 4, use "IV."

Also, Snapps, I would love to help if you need it. It would be good to do some shit with the really old people in the community again

Yeah, I cannot get the banner for the pack to look right, so I just going to let someone else take over. I reupdated my original banner a tiny bit and edited the post on the 3rd page with it, if you decide to use it as the pack banner or even a side banner (kind of how vgmp3 had like 5 of them).
