Imaginary Sky
- Really one of the best easy files added in a while. The little grace notes were a nice touch, not overdone but good practice. Good length for a beginner file, too.
Not too much to critique, great song great file, hi5

I breathe the cosmos
- What the hell, I liked the overall flow of a bmah file? Surprises every day.
There was one (14)21 cameljack-y thing that was just uncalled for, not nearly as bad as Camel itself but (14)23 would have been so much more appropriate.
The first roll transitioned really well, but a few of the burst patterns 3/4 of the way through were not done the way I would have preferred. The first 24th burst goes 12314, which is strange feeling with the 16th polyrhythm and I'd imagine it would have flowed better as 12341, which could have been easily cheated as 12(34)1. The second burst was the one that bothered me most, it has a (13) jump in the middle which is always awkward to PA. I would definitely have preferred that roll going 1234(12)34 or some variant with a 1-handed jump similar to that. Considering this is undeniably the most difficult part of the file it pays to try to make it flow as smoothly as possible. The two bursts immediately afterwards felt great, good job with those transitions.
Also, with regards to minijack transitions, try favoring minijack transitions on the index fingers- they flow a lot better compared to the middle fingers, i.e. instead of (14)(34) use (13)(34). Just a thought.
Overall it's still not totally my style (as usual I swear bmah does just about everything the exact opposite of how I would step it haha), but not a bad file at all. Great song too, <3 asha

- icyworld JS files, so good. Make more preez!

Mahou no Fu
- Those minijacks are just ragebait lol
The jumpstreams could have flowed better. The main issue was (as usual) some long hidden 8th jacks, there was one random 10-ish long up arrow anchor in particular that I couldn't hear any musical justification for, and I found it difficult and awkward to hit.
Take a look at icy's Etude chart, despite some sections of his file having similarly dense jumpstream I think the longest 8th jack I noticed in his jumpstreams was 5 arrows long, and that's really one of the main reasons icy's JS files flow so well- he really seems to pay attention to that.
The jumpstreams and the triplets ending jumps also felt like they were "based" around 1324 patterns with split jumps instead of 1234 patterns with one-handed jumps, which is a type of pattern that is always more difficult to PA... I could continue my really long technical explanation here BUT suffice it to say, while the JS felt good it could have been improved to feel excellent with a few changes. Oh well.
That said, the good stuff: the layering was REALLY well done. Hands were used appropriately. The song was cool. Overall, definitely a nice file, no regrets

Mahou no Fu looks like Pop just stepped most everything he heard

Okay man, I don't usually rant quite like this but it's kind of hard not to when you're just constantly spewing hate.
I don't know why you feel compelled to make a smartass remark about every new chart that gets added, with no constructive suggestions to back it up. What's your problem?
If you're going to constantly criticize people's stepping, at least go learn to step yourself first so you can have some basic knowledge of what you're talking about and can appreciate the effort other people put in before you spout random shit.

I'd just like to make note of something:

We have a "Song of the Week", and I've noticed that every week that It's just the most difficult file, at least difficulty wise. Shouldn't it be based off of the players' reception of the files? Then maybe have the "Song of the Week" determined the day after or the day after that.

well thats so true stepping might be easy , but stepping songs like most guys here, is pretty difficult ...
and seriously i rly respect the work , the simfile authors are doing here.
Whether you like the way its stepped or not is up to you , you cannot expect a person to love all 1000+ files released to this game, but talking bad about their stuff without contructive criticism is poor...

That was not directed at you at all. Unless you're just making a general reply, in which case I totally agree with you.

I don't expect anyone to like every file (I certainly don't), I just expect people to at least be able to articulate WHY they don't like a file before they say so.

etude on a nimbus - the (12)(34)(12)(34)(12) patterns dont really flow too well, but since a majority of people play spread those patterns are acceptable

mahou no fou - pretty ****ing dense 11 lol. it got hard to detect what you were layering in some parts, like the climatic jumpstream where you were layering the vocals along with the other instruments when the vocals stood out the most. also the jacks were a bit forced and surprising compared to what the rest of the file had to offer.

i breathe the cosmos - no surprises from you bmah, liked this file and enjoyed the song as well. you kinda have like a ~~patashu variety~~ thing in stepping, which i like to see a lot

now that I've played all the files and have had some time to mull them over, my reviews:

imaginary sky - grace notes might be a little hard to handle for being a 2, but difficulty typecasting aside, I thought it was a neat file in itself.

i breathe the cosmos - I really disagree with the general direction modern FFR charts are heading. With bmah as the ring leader, it seems like a solid amount the new files in game have at least some type of color gimmick if its not already rainbow dump on its own. Good song choice, but I generally disagree with the way you step things, for instance why did the -I'm still calling it a cameljack, sue me- cameljack even exist when you could have just as effectively stepped it as [14]32? (and don't even try pulling the "I need perfect PR" card.) You once said that you stepped files with awkward patterns so people would play them more than once. If you want to know what type of file I'd be most likely to play more than once, you can go look at Etude on a Nimbus. Sorry about the rant, but our styles obviously clash.

Etude on a Nimbus - Perfection, expected nothing less from icyworld. It's a breath of fresh air to see a chart that doesn't use 9 colors.

Mahou no Fou - A tad bit awkward in the jumpstreams, but I really don't mind that. Those minijacks are hell though, and hi19 put it best calling them rage bait. Fun nevertheless.

i really enjoyed all the files this week, i breathe the cosmos is probably my favourite bmah file. I'll def be aaaing that soon, it's very fun and the song is cool and refreshing. icy grats on the file in game <3 fun as expected, and mahou is fun too, i just dont have enough speed to pa the end jump streams yet, but def a good week for releases imo
