I do play this song at piano, and quite well I feel. At pretty good speeds. But yeah, I checked the file, you're right, there are 6, it just feels much faster on FFR than it does IRL

Did you just completely ignore my second reason? The word ritard only appears once in the sheet music for that song, but all those videos you've posted seems like it's in there 30 times..

Wow, you know very little about piano terms, do you?

It has speed slow downs, and volume changes all over. It has ritard twice, sure, but it has legatissimo, and multiple Accelerando. If you knew about Piano music, after the bar with accel. it returns to normal speed, the song speeds up and slows down at least 7 times, this piece is not only at the exact speed constantly, but is constantly at the same speed as the accel. parts.

The piece is a study on touch, and one of the most difficult ones at that, it changes speed, tempo, mood, and volume multiple times, and between the hands. Those 3 performances I showed are some of the most accurate to the mood and meaning of the piece, the reason why it's so difficult is because of it's 'touch', and the varying moods between the hands. Like the part where you have to play sempre agitato with right hand and sempre legato with the other.

We need someone like Destiny or Sprite- in this thread, someone who actually KNOWS about piano other than me, because clearly you guys don't know how to read complex music, there's more to it that just the notes and some words.

So it has six notes in the jack, doesn't excuse the fact that it never changes speed, follows the musics mood AT ALL, and is, for the majority of it, much, MUCH faster than it should be played, or by Chopin's intentions, as clearly displayed in the sheet music.

Srsly, its not that big of a deal...... the version on FFR is obviously not an original. Why does it matter if it is sped up or not? Is Chopin going to come back and kill whoever sped it up?

Maybe stavie's just annoyed at the generally perceived notion that fast playing = more impressive, when that's often not the case. Perhaps that's just a pet peeve.

Playing Moonlight Sonata right is quite difficult for example. You really do need the right touch.

This doesn't matter on FFR at all though. We're limited in the number of actual piano songs we can step because we're unlikely to get permission for the best performance-based mp3s. Therefore, you have to rely more or less on monotone midis made by people who perhaps really lack piano knowledge and attest to the stereotypes of 'impressive' fast playing. Unsatisfying as that may sound to some, who's actually willing to record a performance and allow it to be stepped on FFR?

                          exactly

hehe, we still have world-famous Philip Glass's performance on Rondo Alla Turca, and that song's still in the game

I doubt Philip Glass would actually allow permission if we asked though

^this about sums it up. I was originally upset over the more than 6 notes, which it seemed like, but then I realized I was incorrect. What this is about now is how everyone was saying the song is generally played around this speed, and with a similar feel, which is the furthest thing from fact, I showed both amateur and professional performances, and they were all knocked down, for reasons I really don't understand. But at this point all has been said, it's a fun file, though it pales to the real piece. That's all I guess...

I've played for the piano for 5 years now, and Ive excelled so much. But there's nothing you can do about it since it's inevitably not changeable.

Destiny doesn't go on here anymore, and Sprite pretty much doesn't care from what I see.
