Yes. PA on Flawless would be more like RA.

I don't have FTP access to upload it myself, so it's waiting on LD.

Actually, in the worst case scenario, if a player has correct timing, he only has 1/60 of a second to hit this new frame, instead of 1/30...

Why would you base judgments on frames at all?

precisely, yeah. by a simple calculation, actual timings are

              default (50ms)
              PA (45ms)
              strict (33.3ms)
              MA (22.5ms)
              flawless (16.7ms)
              RA (11.25ms)

I've played "Flawless" FFR mode before, and believe me, it's a lot harder than MA. Not only do you have less frames to go by visually, but you may have to hit offsync if a song was synced to the middle or early default-perfect frame. It was really hard for me to get even 85%+ Perfects on that mode.

What do you mean by PA, MA, RA? Stepmania's judgments?
                  Also, I don't get how the default is 50ms, imo it's 5/60 seconds, which is 83.3ms, and strict is 3/60 = 50ms.

Re: NSane Presents: The Timing System!

                    Here we go:

                    Stepmania Timings:
                    PA: 90 ms
                    MA: 45 ms
                    RA: 22.5 ms

                    FFR Timings:
                    Default PA: 100 ms
                    Strict PA: 66.66 ms
                    Flawless PA: 33 ms

(I think jimerax is just cutting the FFR timings in half to account for the midpoint of a "perfect" to the next judgment level. I am counting the entire window).

However, you can't really equate these two since the FPS rates are so different across both games, making it harder to judge accuracy visually, and it's much harder to sync a song in a game that operates on a lower FPS, serving as a double-whammy.

Re: NSane Presents: The Timing System!

Timing in SM is calculated as the time you have to hit on either side of the middle of the window. FFR is the total of the two sides. So you have to either double the SM timings or halve the FFR timings.

Yeah I just realized the SM timings also count from the midpoint, so jimerax was correct if you're evaluating it from the midpoint. I listed the entire-window timings.

lol so you cut all 3 frames by half instead of only the leading frame?

edit: ok so you are accounting by the middle of the frame, that's not what I took in account for my calculations.

The average of SM PA and SM RA is roughly FFR Flawless PA, but you can definitely weight it even harder towards the "RA" side of things due to the lower FPS.
