Its your keyboard that wont allow you to do that. My logitech G15 can hit 6 at once.

Use different keys. Some keyboards just can't hit multiple keys of certain combinations--generally cheaper keyboards can't hit more than 2 at once... That's why it pays off to get non-cheap keyboards.

Also, try downloading FF and the latest flash beta for it... I've heard that FFR speeds up if you do that... Dunno what else to suggest.

edit: added all .25 and .75 x mods and 6-10 x mods. and the .5's of 6-10

Are you sure this works? I tried to mod themes just by inputing those metrics, but somehow, I usually get an error or "Modifier Name Undefined" which then crashes Stepmania when your song loads. Also, much of the time on the modifier screen, you can select the "invisible" modifiers. you can select them but they just don't have a chooseable icon.

Doesn't work on stepmania 4.0 and you also have to input them into the languages. I'm positive it works though on 3.9 if done correctly.

From what I know, standard keyboards don't register more than 3 keys of the same row.
Meaning if you don't play spread, if you pressed LEFT,DOWN,RIGHT at the same time, the input would not go through. Usually it works if you play spread, so you don't have more than 3 keys on the same row (LD86).

Conclusion: Reset your keys configuration and play spread

I actually had XP on this computer over a year ago and installed Vista to it. I absolutely regret doing that now but back then not many people even knew it had bad effects with FFR. Kind of sucks that I can't even find the key for XP to reinstall it. Guess I just have bad luck with these kind of things and it's the main reason I don't even play as much as i used to.
