sorry but doug is kind of right. widgets are awful and worthless bits of code. all they do is recruit more myspace ******s who like ****ty music. the new forum layout is bad too, and basically every feature on the main page is terrible. the game is as fun as it can be with the limits set, but overall ffr is pretty ****ty right now.

I agree entirely with this post. only thing I'm really here for is the forums. why was a new forum layout put in, anyway?

ps: maybe it's school keeping people off of ffr.

You are welcome to your opinion .. though when you flame it up like this, it makes me wonder if responding to any of your threads has any value. Had you perhaps thought of the fact that the widgets are ways we reach out to other bigger and better artists? That these artists bring their music to FFR, in return, we give them a piece of FFR for their own spaces? Whine all you like, but flaming FFR and others on FFR using fairly hateful language officially puts you on very fragile standing, NC or not.



Regarding the Active User count, this time of year FFR always goes through the school cycle. Towards the end of the summer everyone hangs and sticks around until the wee hours. Then school kicks in and everyone pretends to be the good students for about a month or so .. but then winds their way back

On the other hand, the active forum members do dip slightly every september because of school starting.

Last close to concrete answer I heard was the Fireside Chat, where he basically said: "Songs are widget only for about a month, then we'll take probably the hardest song on the widget and add it"

Yeah, it usually takes about a month for them to roll back in. But unless the artist specifically says that don't want them in there, they will go in. (non have said that).

SKSK is the only band who has said "put them in FFR NAO!" The rest don't seem to care one way or the other.... and I like the idea of them being widget only for a month or so.

These Silhouettes came out, SKSK came out, and another band will come out today...

WIidgets are great, but I dislike most of the bands on there right now (untill the freezepop one comes out)

They help the site, and might even make Jack Johnson want a Myspace....
