In other words, baseless claims can actually be kinda powerful, but if you're smart you'll know that people are just ignorant and that the claims are in fact baseless. Unfortunately, most people fall into the more disappointing category.

I like the widgets, although I would like to be able to change the speed of the songs. If it is there I don't see it, and would like someone to point it out.

In regards to thread title: Some people have been here a very long time (me for example), that just don't post in forums very often. This is probably my first post in like 3 years. Oo

i was wondering does FFR actually have a standard of music that they put on. or is it "anyone who asks for a widget gets one" i know this isn't a problem now but i mean one day the music may be majority of big name artists, and if that is ever the case will we still see little myspace bands.

if FFR does have a standard of music, where does it draw the line?

what i mean to say is when your a small starting out game its ok to have music made by members or small names. but as you grow and your music becomes more mainsteam your audience will demand more of you, and the question has to be asked will you adapt to the high quality music or still take the "garageband" music?

and as for the topic. is active users counted as those who view the fourms or just those who post on the fourms?

I found this to be slightly more appropriate. Then again, I'm a terrible student.

and, in terms of music.... it depends, really. 1. we aren't at that stage yet, so it's kinda moot. but, 2. we have 2 different mediums... widgets and FFR. for widgets, they take a lot of time and energy to make, so we need to focus only on the best we can get. for FFR, it's usually 1 file, 1 song, and no rush on timeframe, so we're much more willing to take anyone as long as they don't suck too much.

spector: in all truth, the widgets aren't even really for FFR users. clearly, they are... and FFR users (most of them) greatly enjoy the new widgets and what they've opened. but, with that said, they're geared towards the average person who isn't an FFRer... and as such, they don't have a need for speed mods. if that average person likes what we have to offer, they'll join our site and play and then discover speed mods if they want. widgets are completely dumbed down versions of FFR, meant mostly as trial versions. just so happens they make great marketing tools too.

You are also welcome to your opinion. You know of course that by doing so, you also show a significant lack of understanding .. (nice way or saying you are too narrow to see the big picture).

I never did deny the fact that widgets are increasing traffic to this site. The main problem I have is the kind of people that you guys are working O so hard to reach out to. Instead of focusing on bringing in people from myspace, why not actually put most of your efforts on improving the actual contents of the site?

it still is a valid point to answer, whether you give a **** or not. (clearly you do care somewhat, seeing as you're a subscriber... yet your comments are almost always negative).

anyway. while we are putting time into site content, that generally only pleases the existing userbase (which we definitely want).... but RIGHT NOW we're trying to focus on increasing the userbase, which is done by reaching outside of the site and pulling people in.

more users coming in, more traffic we get, more revenue we can generate, more content we can provide on the site. it's a cycle.

seems like a good idea. i always see IMVU banners everywhere. it seems to attract a lot of people from the outs. maybe speak with myspace or somthing tass, ask if you could submit banners on their site. a lot of people there.
