Re: New songs on ffr
Rock music would be a great addition, but as mentioned a couple of times above, it's really hard to calculate an exact BPM. Fusion songs would be the suggestion - lay down an electronic beat and rock out with a guitar ... and a cowbell.
And I shall be looking forward to the disco song.

we could do something with earning money or donations or something to save up for the more popular songs...
meh, is an OK idea, but its the best i could come up with.

Re: New songs on ffr
What's funny about the hip-hop section is it should be really easy to produce original songs for. Places such as Soundclick have people who put up nothing but beats for people to record over.
Newer users (well, probably 90% of the site since this was a long time ago) won't remember this, but FFR one time had a submission contest where Synth provided a downloadable track and we took entries of people rapping to it. The "It's a Rap" contest where the winner got their track into the game. I would imagine we could easily do something like that again. We could maybe even have a Battle of the Bands-type competition to get more rock into the game.
